Hi All,
I use a Macintosh and i've been trying all day to figure out, just how to save a homemade vehicle icon in the .srf file format.
The .BMP files work just fine, in conjunction with their corresponding POI .csv files, but the .srf vehicle icon format files, are definitely from a different planet.
Does anyone have a solution to this conundrum?
Thanks for your time.

Try
Try this:

to download some homemade vehicles
and this
http://techmods.net/nuvi/
to convert from srf2png and png2srf

Re: What's with the .srf format for vehicle icons...
Hi viger6,
Thanks for your help...
I want to convert a picture of my actual vehicle (an Isuzu Rodeo).
On the link:
http://techmods.net/nuvi/
I didn't understand the ".png files should be either 2880x150 or 2881x160, and need to be 24-bit color plus alpha transparency".
I can save to ,png format in Photoshop, but I don't understand those wildly distorted picture dimensions or how to achieve "alpha transparency".
If I can figure that out, i'll head back to that site and convert my newly created .png file.
Thanks again viger6...
