What program do you need to use a 660 in China/Japan? I haven't seen maps for that area, or would the 660 just use the world map? This is ainly to be used on ship. I don't need it right at this moment, but something to be thinking about.

1. When away from home,and choosing built in shopping, restaurants etc....does the GPS (knowing where you are) choose those closest to you at the time (as opposed to those by your home location) ?

I'm curious to know if the Nuvi 350 has knowledge of where stop signs and traffic lights are located when mapping a route to it's destination.

I drive on local roads in NYC and the Nuvi 350 tends to ask me go on roads that are major roadways where there are more traffic and traffic lights.

I have read the FAQs many times and I have also read over 25 pages of this forum. When I download a POI it goes to Excel. After that I have no idea what to do with it.

Does anyone have the patience to help me with this?

I downloaded the Walmart file and opened it and it said the nearest Walmart being 20 some miles away in Kittanning Pa.........when we have one right here in Indiana Pa......only 5 miles away............Dave

Been struggling with Garmin for sometime now and had indicated that I wanted this software on CD. I finally got the free software, but of course it's on DVD. Do they have this software on CD's? What's a person to do other than having to purchase a DVD drive? Can't get too upset over this free software, but would like to get it on my computer.

I heard on the radio that Matt Kenseth won a race this weekend. Therefore on the Monday after a winning race, Arby's will give customers free curly fries. That's for today, 4/16/07. I don't know how ofter these guys race, but more free fry days may be coming!

looking for the bridge cearance in westminster vt

several months ago i ask a garmin tech if there would ever be a upgrade for voice to text for the c530. he said no never because it was a matter of hardware. with the hacker conversation that would seem to not be true. i for one would be willing to pay (a reasonable amount) for a legal up grade from garmin.

I don't mean to make anyone mad by saying that nivu 350 has kicked butt and found everything I asked it for. (It has only let me down once when I swerved to miss debris in the road and nuvi thought I was on a service road next to the interstate.)

So, I've been attempting to learn the source of the categories such as Food, Lodging, Fuel, etc.

I just pulled out my antique but-still-working-great Garmin GPS 12 which is great for field work. However, I'm getting a message that says my lithium memory backup battery (no wonder, after close to 10 years) is low. As the unit is sealed and the manual does not address changing this battery, sending it back to Garmin is the last resort. Anyone have any experience with this?

Is there a way to create a custom POI list for business contacts that I would like to stop by as I travel. Something that I could upload in a xls or csv format in bulk. Maybe 500 to 1000 contacts at a time? I thought I could do it with the NUVI 680, but I am having trouble tring to figure out how to start or what "template" to use if there is one? any suggestions?
