The Nightly News on NBC tonight had a piece on the crumbling infrastructure of the United States.

They have on their website a "Bridge Tracker" in which you input your origin and destination and it shows you all of the bridges you will cross. You can also choose to show just Functionally Obsolete, Structurally Deficient or "Not Deficient" bridges, or any combination thereof.

OK - I've been here forever. I know a few things about GPSs and thought I was informed... but this always throws me off. What's the difference in GPS and GPSr?

I do know that aGPS is for Assisted GPS on cell phones.

Which is better the FM Traffic from Clear Channel or MSN Traffic? I have a Garmin Nuvi 680.

A few small rural communities in Iowa are starting to ban the use of a GPS supposedly gps units are to much of distraction and are dangerous to the public especially when all ths started when a 16 yearold ran down 80 year old so all gps owners will do the same i guess .

I just bought a new HP laptop and decided to update my 370 and update my Red Light Camera files from this great site.

I downloaded Garmin web updater and POI uploader from the Garmin site and then downloaded the camera files. Connected my GPS to the computer and clicked on web updater nothing happened, just an error message that the program was not responding. Tried again same issue.

I've found that I almost never use the icons displayed on my GPSr's screen, and certainly never use them when I'm driving. Part of the reason is because one needs to be zoomed in to the 300 foot scale or closer. I understand the need to do this otherwise the screen would be way too cluttered.

There are a couple of minor problems in the Raleigh NC speed traps POI file, but they can be a real pain in you are in manual mode, setting proximity settings for dozens of files, and then hit this error in the process.

Hello everyone, I just moved to Brandon Florida just outside ot Tampa. I am trying to figure out how to update my Florida POI's. Is there a specific way to search just in the state of Florida? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks -Rob

I had a TomTom 920 and loved it but thought I would "upgrade" to a Garmin 765t. What a mistake! The TomTom has the Garmin beat all the way around.

I've talked to a few GPS owners about downloading POIs from this site and usually get the same reaction. They don't realize this is possible, don't know how to do it, think it is too complicated, etc. I'm wondering if we can make it easier for owners of any brand GPS to use POIs from this site.

Most of the poi factory posts are naturally directed to motoring and new technology. I am sure that I am not favorably impressed with some of these. Toyota, for example, is developing a brake system that will stop your car at stop signs if you don't.
This is not for me; I want to choose when and where I stop.
