Another funfilled Week!

The Weather is getting warmer in Chicagoland.

My youngest son’s Pinewood Derby was held yesterday, with him netting a second place for design. (all I did was the cutting of the wood – he did the sanding, sanding sealer, painting, design, etc.) Fun was had by all.

We will see what the week brings.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled forum - already in progress . . .

Mine was sheer luck (and insomnia last night!). I was actually trying for the last on the old thread!

You can sure tell who's retired and who's providing potentially little value-added at work though. grin

left over from last week

Our new President promised CHANGE, So far he has appointed the Clinton administration as his administration, even Bills wife. where's the change?

Finally, any hope worth talking about must refer to something within the realm of possibility. not just a desirable possibility, not a dream or fantasy.

He is My President, and I stand behind him. I don't see him getting us out of the economic fiasco that we are in, with the Cabinet he assembled.

Afghanistan/Iraq will be his Vietnam, so he will never pull out of the middle east like he promised.

So Charles your right, sometimes you have to look through the smoke and mirrors, because things don't seem like what politicians make them appear.

Enough politics, just had to chime in though.

Do I see Spring? Was the groundhog wrong?

57 years tells me you can just omit "sometimes" if you make that statement again!

Cold and rainy here in Phoenix

It has been cold and rainy for the past two days here in Phoenix. I guess cold is relative however if you consider 55 degrees cold.

I could use some of those smoked spare ribs one of the other posters mentioned. Enjoy!

Best wishes for a good week to all on board the forum.

Goodyear AZ

Anyone from the Phoenix area had the opportunity to see the new Goodyear Ballpark and Spring Training Home of MLB's Cleveland Indians in Goodyear, AZ?

I am so excited that the Indians left the Grapefruit league and went back to the cactus league, and won't have to play the same hand full of teams over and over again during spring training.

Next year the Cincinnati Reds will join them at the same complex.

Hey! For all the Snow and Ice that Michigan dumped on us, we should send some back! (LOL)

Actually we're having a heat wave too, it rained yesterday and it's supposed to rain for the next several days.

And I've got about a foot of ice on my roof, so I'm enjoying the Chinook and am hoping that it last long enough to melt it all!

Everybody talking about how cold it is out west and down south. Almost 60 degrees today just south of Chicago. Of course by the end of the week will probably be freezing again, strange weather...come on spring grin

Rain -

OK, Here's the deal!! If I could, I would trade some nice weather for lots and lots of rain. We are about to become land locked if this drought continues. This is the 3rd year of under normal rain fall and it looks like we're going to have to go to baths every other day if this dry spell continues. Northern CA has perks, but this isn't one of them. Any one want to send some rain?

Thank You!

Winter Special Olympics...

Idaho is hosting the 2009 Winter Special Olympics and today I took my oldest daughter with me to be around of all the excitement.

We had an amazing adventure and met a lot of really interesting people from all around the world.

She was so excited that she got to have her picture taken with Olympic Athletes.

It is quite something to live in the city that is hosting such a spectacular world encompassing event.

I am a very proud Idahoan right now.

Look at all the people in hot water over taxes that he;s appointed. All those criminals is definitely a change from the Bush admin.
