Which is Best Garmin or TomTom

I own a nuvi750 a guy I work with has a TomTom720
we are always fighting over which is best and it
always ends with him saying the TomTom does the
recalculations faster then Garmin.I have never
had a problem with recalculating missed turns
it does it within seconds So what do you all think
I need some ammo. I love to agervate this guy so
please help

I bought a TomTom just to try it out, because I am a Garmin fanboy.
I gotta say I'm fairly pleased with the TomTom.
Still like the Garmin a bit more, but the TomTom is very nice.
Swap with your co-worker for a while and I'm sure both of you will learn something.

Garmin vs. TomTom
Like mentioned above that's pretty much a matter of taste. Garmins have ease of use, and TomToms have more options and customization capabilities.
I choose my very ancient Magellan non-mapping handheld. It only takes about 45 minutes to start picking up satellites.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I've been told that the Garmin maps are more accurate.
Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

There's been a lot of debate on this. Garmin uses Navteq maps....TomTom owns and uses TeleAtlas maps. Navteq is based in the US, TeleAtlas is based in Europe. Awhile back Navteq was better in the US and TeleAtlas in Europe. From what I hear TeleAtlas seems to be getting better in the US and are now using TomTom Mapshare to find corrections on the new maps. TeleAtlas does charge less to the GPSr manufacturers than Navteq.
