Hi All,

I wanted to know how websites visited can be tracked?

If i visit website from home which is same like visiting websites in net cafe and the same laptop is used in office, then can it be tracked ?

I have a Garmin c530 and I'm having trouble downloading the free world basemap. Ever time I download the Iquee 3600 free world map, it says I need some kind of palm download.

Is he in Beijing and cant get a connect to the site?

Its been ages since I've seen his name on a post.

I wanted to create one location for all of our Florida members to check in and let us know how they fared after TS Fay. We've kept our fingers crossed and hoped for the best for you guys, so let us hear from you. Hopefully, you are all doing well. But we really want to know you're OK.

Tried downloading poi verifier to my PC but got error message DFSVC.EXE HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM.

Anyone has any idea what's wrong.

I loaded on my laptop with no problem.

Want to purchase program if I can get it to work on my PC.

Can anyone suggest how they organize their POI's.
ie: by state, type etc.

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.

If you have the option of choosing lightly traveled roads over busier ones, you give yourself more flexibility to employ a wider range of fuel saving techniques than if you are surrounded by other vehicles. I'm new here and I must say this is an excellent site. What a great resource.

My questions is there seems to be several companies that neglected the northwest (I live in North Idaho). I grabbed several company POI files, but the following ones don't show any locations near me:

7-Eleven
Applebee's
Burger King
Pizza Hut
Shell
Taco Bell

Will the business world provides GPS owners a free POI file of their business locations.

Would it not benefit their business.

I downloaded the rest stops and set up alerts about a mile in advance. Works like a charm! Everyone here is so very helpful (not surprised at that) and I want to thank everyone who makes this all possible. A friend of mine is moving out of state and bought a nuvi 5000. What REALLY surprised me is that it has no battery; has to be plugged in to use it.

I purchased the beanbag mount based on someone's comment in this forum. I wondered how well it would stay in place but the comment I read stated he could NOT inadvertently knock it off. So I took a chance and bought it. It's great; completely mobile when in other cars and much better and easier than the windshield mount which I would have had trouble reaching.

Does anyone know where I can get a POI file for Family Dollar? I could not find one in the POI file pages. If not, is there a easy way to find all the locations so I can make a POI file for the site. I went to the Family Dollar site to get store locations and all it gives you are the 5 or 6 closest stores in your zip code.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I was unable to find any information on it. Why are there no fuel station POI's listed, other than just fuel brand .bmp images? Would the files just be too large and ever-changing?

I have run across http://www.samecell.com/index.htm
and wonder if anyone on here has any knowledge of how well it works? They seem to offer a GPS service with a combination of cell tower and satellite reception. This is regardless of what your service provider includes in your package.

I think it only works with Blackberry models but before I left that website I was not sure which models.

I am very new at this poi stuff and have plenty of room on my sd card but when i load southwest campgrounds it only goes out about 1800 miles from here in pennsylvania.... when i get closer driving to say arizona will more poi's show up on my garmin c-550?_____
