Has anybody else taken their GPS to the spot where you can stand in four states at once. According to my Garmin Vista the actual spot was over 1/4 of a mile away. Is my Vista that inaccurate, or is the actual location to inconvenient to place a monument

I am a Marine hobbyist and huge dog lover and I'm constantly on the look for new shops but I can't seem to find anywhere that collects multiple sites/ locations... I'm currently in the process of collecting info for POI on this topic that I know of in and around the Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virgina Tri-state area.

I just wanted to say "Hi" to all on this site, I have my First GPS this month,(Waited till I'm 72Yrs young) A Garmin C550 and have done lot of reading. I found this site on the Web, and to me it's one of the "best" sites I have ever visited, so easy to use, I look forward to meeting a lot of new friends. Thank you, sincerely

Has anyone used the free lifetime traffic from garmin with the ads. I am thinking of purchasing a new gps and wonder if this is a problem. I have an garmin streetpilot c580 and like it, but if I can purchase a new gps for about the same as the cost of lifetime traffic from garmin, it would seem better to purchass the new unit

New in the Province of Quebec: The government will be testing mobile speed cameras on a few sections of Highway. Some of these sections are 9 to 11 Km long, is there any way of setting a speed camera file for a section this long. Also some parts of the section have different speed limits.

Just thought I would say hi, I hope to contribute to the POI files at some stage. I have only owned a GPS (Nuvi 760) for a short time but love it. I am an Aussie transplant to the USA, owned and ran iROK Radio (Oklahoma's oldest & largest Podcast) and I work as an IT Manager for a non-profit.

Back in December of 2008, I started a new manager to handle all those points of interest. The popularity of the project had grown within a very short amount of time. With all the feedback the application received, I was able to build a featured rich application. Some of these features included: Geocoding, Map Marker, and Importing.

What do you think about programing navigation units to avoid Enforcement Camera locations?

I believe that could only be done by the manufacturer, and would be an option like avoiding toll roads or freeways.

Newbie here trying to figure out the custom POI's. It doesn't seem like its possible to load more than 1 .csv file unless I'm doing something wrong. Everytime I try to upload it overwrites the previous .csv file????

Anyone know of a Google Map applet where you enter the latitude and longitude, and Google maps displays the location?

Google maps, does have "Place Finder", but I noticed that it is NOT suitable for double checking your GPS readings. It "converts" you data entry to certain nearby predefined locations. Clearly not suitable for double checking your work.

A lawyer got one of the Red Light camera tickets..and took it to court. The law says that the Owner of the Vehicle will get the ticket. Well they " lease" all there cars. So they don;t own them. They also said anyone else could win even if they do own their car. Due to an unequal enforcement rule..So if you get a red light ticket in Cleveland it may be worth fighting it..
