Stay Well

I know this isn't GPS related and I fully understand if Miss POI decides to delete this thread but I just want to wish my Poi Factory family well during this interesting situation that seems to have developed and escalated overnight.
Stay well and take care of yourselves.

Best precautions to avoid or forestall infection.

1. Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water; scrubbing for a minimum of 20-seconds. Sing (silently, to yourself please smile) "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" while you're scrubbing and that's about the right amount of time.

2. Cover coughs or sneezes. If you don't have a handkerchief or paper tissue handy, cover your mouth and nose with the crook of your arm (the opposite side of your elbow.) Then, see #1 and carry out as soon as you can.

Stay well, folks!

WHO warns flu pandemic imminent

Who gives the warning?

I don't know.

He's on third base.

Take care y'all.

Times like this

It's not ideal to be in retail operations/support and have to cover 4 stores in 2 states and drive 200+ miles a week...

WHO & CDC warn outbreak of H1N1 influenza pandemic imminent

What should I do if I think I have H1N1 (Swine) influenza?

If you feel unwell, have high fever, cough and/or sore throat:

1) Stay at home and keep away from work, school or crowds as much as possible.
2) Rest and take plenty of fluids.
3) Cover your mouth and nose with disposable tissues when coughing and sneezing and dispose of the used tissues properly.
4) Wash your hands with soap and water frequently and thoroughly, especially after coughing or sneezing.
5) Inform family and friends about your illness and seek help for household chores that require contact with other people such as shopping.

If you need medical attention:

a) Contact your doctor or healthcare provider before travelling to see them and report your symptoms. Explain why you think you have swine influenza (for example, if you have recently travelled to a country where there is a swine influenza outbreak in humans). Follow the advice given to you for care.
b) If it is not possible to contact your healthcare provider in advance, communicate your suspicion of having swine influenza immediately upon arrival at the healthcare facility.
c) Take care to cover your nose and mouth during travel.

You could be a kid in a school, with a few hundred coughing, sneezing students for 6- 8 hours a day at close proximity of each other.

My suggestion to you Keith,
Don't shake ands and keep a large supply of hand sanitizer close to you. keep your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth.

Be prepared

All this talk about the swine flu might be the media over reacting, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

We prepared for the Bird Flu and thank God, it didn't come to pass. Throwing out the expired canned foods and medications was cheap insurance.

Keep an eye on the CDC site and take a look at their "Plan & Prepare". It's probably stuff you've already done. Hopefully, nothing more will come of this flu and we can throw these medicines and foods away.
