POI files doubling up in Garmin Nuvi 1490 using POI loader
For some reason when I save my poi's into my computer and then install into my Nuvi 1490 they double up . I have 2 installs of my files??

Keeping the Windmill Alive - Your last trip? - February 2012
In danger of losing your windmill?
Maybe you can share with us the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you use it to seek out special places to go. (Like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.) Anything to keep your windmill alive.

Microsoft Patents 'Unsafe Neighborhood' GPS Avoidance Feature.

Microsoft just got a patent approved for a avoiding unsafe neighborhoods when navigating via GPS. According to Microsoft, the feature is specifically aimed at pedestrian travelers, and factors conditions such as weather, terrain, and "security information" (read: crime statistics).

One thing I wish it was added to the GPD traffic alert service is the ability to display Amber Alert for the road you are traveling, this may have prevented some of the dead near Gainsville or in similar road accidents cause by dense fog or smoke.

Deleting all maps in a Garmin 250W
Can all the maps in a Garmin be deleted so i can install the complete 2011 or later maps? As of now i have all of 2009 North America maps and the eastern USA and Canada maps.When i open up my files it does not show 2009 maps but in the maps section of the unit i can pick 2009 or 2011.The 2009 is not listed in any program file so how do i get rid of 2009? Thank you.

Lawn Mower DUI
ALEDO, Ill – The estranged husband of an alleged murder victim will spend time in prison for driving a lawn mower.
On Tuesday, January 24th, William “Pete” White, 43, was sentenced to four years in prison for driving with a revoked license.
On July 18th, 2011, White was arrested for driving a riding mower through Viola.
