The unofficial Chit Chat thread for October 10th
This thread should be closed when the official one opens up, but starting an "unofficial" one has been a thought of mine for a while.
Have fun!!

How to Get a Reply Notification
When I post on the forum, I have no way of knowing when or if someone has replied. On other forums, I can opt to receive an email notification when a reply has been posted.
Is there a way of signing up for reply notifications on POI?

Hurricane Matthew
Just a note regarding my responses/inputs to the files that I maintain. I have had to evacuate my home in Florida and don't know when I will be able to return. I just hope that our home will not be damaged, but with the power of this storm, that maybe too much to ask.
I will respond as quickly as I can.

Win 7 Help / Question
I was visiting a friend of mine over the past couple of days. They told me their system hadn't done any updates in a while. I took a look at their update settings and it indicated
it would check for updtes but let me choose whether to download and install them
When I inspected the update transaction log it revealed no updates had been applied to the system since Feb, 9, 2016.

Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – October 2016
In danger of losing your windmill?
Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).
Anything to keep your windmill alive.
This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

10 Years Ago, and More
The topic here about Zadmi got me thinking. In 1999, I was using a hockey puck receiver with Rand McNally mapping software on a laptop to navigate. I was driving an 18 wheeler. The maps were none to detailed, and actual addresses were hard to locate. It would get you in the general area. Sometimes it would take you exactly where you want to go.

Donaldb530 maintains several of our more high maintenance POI files, such as WalMart, Sam's Clubs, And Super WalMart Centers In The United States & Canada, Truck/RV fuel Stations, Costco US and Canada and Flying J/Pilot Travel Plazas.
