Pretty impressive. When I was a kid we had a neighbor that would do something like this, albeit on a smaller scale.

Consumer Electronics Show 2017

CES 2017 is only a couple of weeks away. Does anybody here anticipate Garmin, or anybody else for that matter, to release anything new at CES 2017? From my perspective, it seems as if Garmin releases things throughout the year, so maybe they won't release anything terribly earthshaking at CES 2017.

Backslash character.

This is probably a question for JM ...

Vote for contributors of the Year 2016

It’s once again time to reflect on the things you enjoy about POI Factory and consider the members who help to make this community the great place it is.

TubaChristmas

Has anyone attended a TubaChristmas performance? If not, see what NPR writes and a location site (choose you state for locations and dates/times).

At long last it is officially online and open to all. Now for the new GPS units. Some phones all ready have both GPS chips in them.

Yahoo Mail Breach

Does anyone use Yahoo mail? Did you receive Yahoo security notification? Yahoo mail security breach was all over the news yesterday. I just changed my password for the 2nd time this year.

NO this is NOT a phishing mail. I'm an IT person responsible for installing/configuring/maintaining mail servers so I know very well the difference between real or fake mail.

This week's COW is, Strephon_Alkhalikoi!

We enjoyed his informative comment in the, LED Vs CCFL Backlit LCD TV discussion. For those not familiar with LED vs CCFL Backlit LCD or Plasma, it’s a nice primer.

LED vs CCFL Backlit LCD TV

I got a 32" LG LCD TV (CCFL backlit, I think) that I bought in 2009. It broke in February 2016. That TV released measurable heat when it was on. I could feel it when I was close enough to the top or front of it. I dare not turn it on when Southern California summer heat is at its peak because my bedroom will be a lot warmer with the TV on.

How Many Of My Fellow POI Factory Members Still Download POIs?

As posted above, I am just wondering how many of my fellow POI members do still download POIs? I haven't for a long time. Between what is already pre-loaded on the device and the ability to use the Garmin Smartphone application and send it to my Garmin Nuvi 3597, I don't really seem to have much need for it.

This week we’re recognizing, Mgarledge & Canuk!

I recently posted a thread about including more non-GPS topics in our forums. While we’ll always be a GPS and POI based site, we also recognize that we need to diversify a bit if we want to stick around for another 10+ years.
