Creating POI files

I have searched high and low, and have not seen a file for the US locations of Wendy's. Anyone have such an animal?

okay so the poi i created, under the info for 4th slot i put the address and phone number but most of them info turns out like this

I just purchased a Garmin nuvi 650 from Costco for 299. I love it so far... but have a question regarding when a list of points in somefile.csv actually display on the map? I seem to be only getting the point selected to "Go" to. I was hoping that, once loaded, the custom poi's would be on the map? What am I missing?

Can someone direct me to a brief tutorial and the software necessary to create a POI file. I have some application development experience.

I am trying to convert a Google Earth placemark I have created and which has over 250 POIs, most of which have fairly lengthy text, to a gpx file to load into my Nuvi 650.

I used Mac versions of GPS Babel a create the gpx file and the Mac version of Garming POI loader to send it to the GPSr.

I converted the kml using the GPX XML output option.

I have tried and tried and can not get custom icon to come up in mapsource. I have saved the icon as a bitmap in the folder and have named it 000. What am I doing wrong?

I have down loaded Garmin poi loader and made a my garmin file.

Open the installer and only show SD card and 750.

files are saved on C drive. POI loader does not let go there to transfer. That is I am understanding the directions.

Most truckstops are associated with an interstate.
Because of that, wouldn't it make sense to have the truckstop pois have the lat and long on the interstate exit instead of at their actual address?

This way the alerts would work properly in the file for the interstate and we could set an alert and actually get one.

I understand Redlight in a POI file name will automatically give the pois in the file a distance of about 1329...

But is there some other word or code that will give a poi file a distance? Say I want to give a distance of 2 miles to a file... is there some code that I could put in the file name to accomplish this?

I created a POI file for B of A ATMs in California in csv format and it loads to my nuvi 660. I tried to upload it here a couple of times and it hasn't shown up... Am I doing something wrong or is it a seniority thing? I only joined 5 days ago...

I am new to GPS and just purchased a garmin 200w. I do pest control and will be using this unit to get me from stop to stop.
I have read up on how to add POI's to the GPS unit but I have some questions.

In creating my poi, I put the lat/lon in columns A & B.
I then put Name of the location in column C. I then put the address of the location in column D. I would like to put the telephone number in column E, which I did but it does not display when I open the poi in my Garmin nuvi 360. How can I accomplish what I want to do?

Is there a way to have my c330 tell me of a POI coming near without actually having it as a part of my route?

OK I have the POI loader downloaded.
I have several files in a folder with the redlight cameras for houston & the cordinates.
I'm hooked up via USB
Garmin street Pilot 550
The POI loader program look blank i.e. no buttons or menu? MAybe I'm missing something?

How do I load an icon into the Magellan 4040?

I have a spread sheet with 5 columns. they are Long, Lat, City, State, and Zip code.
Is there a way to merge the last 3 columns into one so that when I search on my c340 If I dont know any one of the 3 I can still find it?
Not sure if Im clear but Ill try to explain.

I've added a few POI's here and there to the site and one of the comments I get a lot is "the alert doesn't come on when I'm near..." I purposely, in all of my POI's, leave the Alert Field out as I see it to be either user preference or a possible problem to use with some Nav units.
