Other GPS brands

I think I may have made a BIG mistake.

I am moving to a new city soon and thus bought a new GPS. since I am one of those people who cant find the local supermarkets without getting lost.

Have tried my best to figure this out but alas I guess I am missing something or it just can't be done.

Is there any way to convet a GM gps system to a Garmin system? Short of replacing the entire unit?

Fedup fighting my 1490lmt something different each time I go to use it. Vacation time is close do not want to find ourselves where we do not to be. My thanks to all who replied to my "overloaded 1490lmt thread"

Son just bought a Curtis GPD 430. I only had a few minutes in the restaurant to look at it, but I don't like it much.

I'm sure this question has been asked/answered a 1000 times. I looked at FAQ and couldn't find it. So what is it? How and why would I take one? What does it do? What question am I NOT asking here that I should of? Thanks in advance.

Anyone know if this thing can use custom POIs? I want to import the red light camera database but I can't find where to do it. It's the stock navigation in a 2012 F150.

Does anyone have a GPS / backup camera from 4UCam? I was just wondering if it's a good device or not.

Back in the day, I had used Radio Shack's Dititraveler GPS receiver, tethered to the computer's serial port. I vaguely remember using a Rand McNally program on the PC. Following that, I had used an early version of Delorme's Street Atlas and Microsoft's Streets & Trips. Back then, I could also "export" the maps to my pocket PC. That would have been around 2000 or early 2001.

I am using rv road trip navigator with a gps antenna. I am giving up on answers to the question regarding csv files. Rv road trip navigator is specific in requiring csv. Such being the case it seems to be a square peg in a round hole. Darn near everything I find is in gpx.

What give?? Am i missing something??.....jim

I am just wondering if anybody here has any experience with the AVMap Geosat 6 APRS and Geosat 6 APRS units. It looks like they are optimized for Amateur Radio APRS with Kenwood amateur radios.

I still do most of my GPS tracking & mapping from my laptops. I'm currently running SA 2010, the plain (not Plus) version.

Is there a way to download a POI file to the factory Mercedes NAV system? I know my 2009 E350 has POI inputs; however, I'm really unsure how to load them, or if ones from this forum would work. Any help would be appreciated.

Yesterday, I entered about 20 My Places addresses in my Mio 689. I then discovered that I had a duplicate entry, so I deleted it. Unfortunately, I must have clicked the wrong button somewhere as it deleted every My Place.
