Son just bought a Curtis GPD 430. I only had a few minutes in the restaurant to look at it, but I don't like it much.
Screen is sharp and bright, but couldn't get a signal (my NUVI40 got a signal, albeit somewhat weak, 3 bars). Son said he had it on before he came into the restaurant, but it didn't know where it was. Maybe he hadn't downloaded any maps yet. Whatever, it didn't remember where he was prior to turning it off.
Pathways are not as intuitive as my NUVI.
You have go select the POI's (restaurant, hospitals, etc), and it had a selection for Border Patrols (??)
Signal
Just wanted to comment that my nuvi 1350LMT seems to be having a longer time to find a signal. Anyone else notice this trend?

This is the Other GPS forum. Perhaps you want to repost in the Garmin Talk forum?

Just read the owners manual for this piece of crap.
One sentence for the navigation mode.
It is not what I call a GPS. It is a video player, music player, photo album, e-book reader with pretensions to being a GPS.
I may disown my son....

It has pretty detailed instructions for navigation. The other short user guide is more like a quick start guide.
