How about a GPS for swimmers?

Track Your Route with the FINIS Hydro Tracker GPS

The Hydro Tracker GPS from FINIS is a tracking, mapping, and performance-reporting accessory designed for open water swimmers. The GPS unit is designed to attach to the straps on swim goggles so that it sits on the back of the head to receive a constant signal. The Hydro Tracker GPS records data as you swim that can be used later to map your swim and analyze your route and rate

I bet this can be used to monitor your heart rate while driving in traffic too. If you find your heart rate is always increasing at the same locations maybe its time to find a new route. smile

Thank you!

Thank you!

What's the news?

Garmin has whole line of something like this. Different functions are implemented depending on model. So I don't see really what this whole ado is about? GPS devices are so cheap and small that can be put into almost everything. It's just one more think that has to sell product.

Garmin devices are listed here:

What irks me though, is this in article:
After the run, connect the watch to your computer with the included USB cable to transfer your data to your profile at runtastic’s website to analyze your metrics.
Guess it's impossible to do this analysis locally on computer.

This is interesting. GPS may

This is interesting. GPS may be used to detect earthquakes 40 minutes in advance.

Now one for your camera

"I have a couple of Nikon DSLR cameras that I use for personal and Gadgeteer photography. Nikon cameras aren’t cheap, but hey – not every camera is mentioned in song, either. wink Accessories, especially the Nikon-branded ones, aren’t cheap, either. I’ve been slowly collecting studio lights, flashes for the hot shoe, filters – you get the idea. One accessory I was intrigued by was Nikon’s GPS accessory to add geographical coordinates into the EXIF information of the photos I take. The GP-1 is expensive and there are things I need more, so I had forgotten about GPS info for my photos for the time being. That is until EasyTag offered their EasyTagger for Nikon cameras to The Gadgeteer for review. Let’s see how it worked for me."

phone

Hate to say it, but the past several months, I been using my phone for navigation!! I may never buy another GPS!! My phone uses live updates, and seems more accurate than my 765t! I was thinking about adopting the covered bridge POI, but now I may never use it, I may have to rethink this idea a bit.

Unless you are the lead sled dog, the view never changes. I is retard... every day is Saturday! I still use the Garmin 3590 LMT even tho I upgraded to the Garmin 61 LMT. Bigger screen is not always better in my opinion.
