Silly Question??? (gray dots)

Hey All, I have a silly question to ask... What are the small silver looking balls (similar to golf balls) that show up periodically on my Zumo's navigation screen? They appear more so in populace areas rather than rural areas. I've contacted Garmin and spoke to a technician who was had no idea what I was talking about. I went back and checked the Icons I’ve downloaded from POI Factory and have found none that look like these darn balls... Any info would be greatly appreciated... Thanks "X"

.

You get grey blobs for POI's with no associated bitmap...could it be them?

Otherwise, you might have to investigate use of the 'screen capture' function of your Zümo, to show us what you mean...

Here's what I posted to your question on the Zumo forum

If you are seeing those gray dots, then they represent Custom POIs that you have loaded. If you intended to load Custom Icons with your Custom POIs, then you will need to go back to the instructions for loading Custom Icons and reload your Custom POIs.

The most common mistake is that the BMPs are not named properly. Double and triple check to ensure that you have named them properly paying particular attention to the whether you have double file extensions. Also be sure that you have located them in the correct folder.

Thanks!!!

Thanks for the info...

Thanks!

I have often wondered that myself on my C340.

Dots

They are also cities and towns that are not zoomed in enough to show the names. I wondered the same too with my sp7200. I deleted all custom poi's and waypoints and still had them. Then I found they were linked to cities and towns.
