Garmin talk

I have made a redlight file and was able to up loaded with the loader,I turn it on and it's in the alert file then I turn it on later and it's missing...HELP!!!There is no alert or warning when driving.

I brought GARMIN 660 recently it has a default option
WAAS/EGNOS = off. can some one let me know what is this option ? do we need to turn it on in order to function 660 to work effectely

On Garmin Nuvi 650: I recently used the software from Garmin - POI Loader and added some POI files that started as CSVs on my computer. In the directory with the CSV, I placed a BMP with the same name. When viewing the map on the Nuvi, at the POI location, there seemed to be two icons competing for the space. A dot, like when there is a POI, and the icon I uploaded with the POI file.

I will be taking a trip to Hawaii in a few months and was wondering if anyone has used their GPS on the islands. The Garmin website shows that the coverage map for City Navigator NT (North America) is "provided using unverified government data". I was wondering if anyone has experienced any problems there. Has anyone else had any problems with the nuvi 760?

Does anyone notice that if you have a POI for example the outlet. Then you want to see the nearest outlet on your current location. if you try to select the nearest one base from the miles that the garmin list on the right most column and try to add the total directions. I noticed that they are off.

I was not looking today and of course I found it. If you are looking for a carrying case that is about 10.00 I found one at walmart in the camera section.
cicon VIN25-Blk.Cheaper than the 30.00 Garmin wants for
the case.

I thought this would help out people in the group who

I have a nuvi 200, how can I review a route or force a recalculation if I don't like the route it picked?

How do you do a hard reset on a nuvi 200w?

also,
the reset button on the bottom back near the serial # does nothing. what gives here?

I am looking to add icons like starbucks so when I see my map while I drive I will actually see the starbucks icon when I approach it....how can i do this? and will it work on the garmin nuvi 200??? help

Just had an issue with my 660 and the speaker so I went to Best Buy and got a replacement. Got the 760 and from the first 30 minutes of use, I really like it. The screen during the day time is much easier to see than the 660. I have seen the comments that the screens were the same but this screen seems much brighter and more clear than the 660 under similar settings/conditions.

I recently got a nuvi 650 as did a friend. I was helping him figure it out when I noticed that his Audio SW was version 180, while mine is SW version 130. I have run webupdater but it says I'm up to date.

Can someone please explain?

I have had my Nuvi 660 about a year now and love it. I have noticed some problems over the past 2 weeks. I am current on all firmware (wondering if that is the problem). On a recent road trip my Nuvi kept losing satellite connection, sometimes it would come back, sometimes you had to reset the unit. Eventually it stopped and we had to turn it off.

i recently brought GARMIN 660 I used it first time yesterday Garmin 660 did not Speak street names can some one let me know what needs to be done to make garmin 660 to Speak street names.

note: Unit specs says garmin 660 has ability to speack

I was meeting a client in a small town in western Minnesota on Friday, I was coming from the Minneapolis airport using my 680, he was driving over from Wisconsin using an older (I do not know which model) Garmin. He traveled right past the airport also, yet our two units sent us in distinctly different western routes to the same location.

I had a problem with the plub on my new 7200 Garmin unit that required a new screw and Garmin sent an entire new mouting device with all the wires attached. A spare would have cost me $50 but they sent me a new one (when all I needed was a tiny screw) for free and told me I could keep the old one.

Anybody want to share what they like or don't like about their Garmin Nuvi 200?

The info I got with my new garmin C340 was just about enough to turn it on.... I downloaded the owner manual from Garmin.com. It is a good basic guide for using this model, But I am finding out on here that there is a lot more you can do with it. Does anyone know where I can get info on all the features of the C340?

I just got my 650 and I'm really diggin it but I want to hook it up to my car stereo so I can have it broadcast through the car speakers rather than the Nuvi speakers. I've tried the FM transmitter thing with other products and I'm not going to even try that route.

New to gps. I dowloaded the rest areas poi file together with icon and mp3 file. Also dowloaded the airports poi file. Transfered both to Nuvi 660. While I now see the airport location icons I don't see any rest area icons unless I navigate to one of them, then I see it. Any suggestions much appreciated.
