Nuvi 760 Bluetooth Woes

Has anyone had good success with bluetooth and the Nuvi 7xx series?
I get my Blackberry Pearl paired and it even shows my contact list, last dialed phone number, etc but I keep getting a frequent message saying phone disconnected. It is very annoying and my phone is just within a couple feet of the Nuvi.
Anyone else have better results? I know there is nothing wrong with bluetooth on the phone because I use it regularly with a bluetooth headset.
I have read various posts on this forum regarding the the previous Nuvi models (6xx series and others) that seem to describe similar things. I hope this is a firmware issue and not a hardware issue.

I just got my BB Pearl a few days ago and tried to pair it with my nuvi 660. I go through the steps and my BB indicates a successful pairing but within seconds my nuvi "states phone disconnected." A few times they seem to pair OK and when I dial a number on the nuvi there is no ringing, just dead air. Yesterday after about the tenth time at pairing the devices, a successful pairing, I was able to use the nuvi to make a test call. I was so excited that I forgot to test out the other features like voice dialing or to check if all of my contacts were transferred to the nuvi and I just turned the devices off. Well, the next day I tried to use my BB with my 660 and they wouldn't pair correctly AGAIN. I've read in another forum that the problem maybe with the latest BT firmware upgrade??? You're certainly not alone.

Nuvi 680 & Bluetooth
I don't know if this helps or anything, I just got this 680 and paired with a Motorola. What I noticed is that it would disconnect for a second or two and then reconnect. I haven't used the phone enough with it to see if it does that while I'm using the phone. I had uploaded the latest BT update from Garmin on 12/26/2007. I don't know if that is what you are seeing but that is what's happening to me.
Update: I've been playing around with it this morning and found that this issue must be my phone. My BT is going in and out on my phone for some reason.
BB 8800 & Nuvi 660 Bluetooth issues
I have/had similar issues as it has been described here. The phone would get disconnected for no apparent reason until I moved the BB away from the GPS unit.
The BB used to be approx. 18 to 24" away from the GPS and I would get disconnected. Once I moved the BB to 3' or more, I have never been disconnected.
Not sure, but it might be the bluetooth gets overpowered...... (if there is such problem)
