Is there a way to add custom POI's and be able to go to- Where to-Food Lodging- and do the Spell Name function to search YOUR CUSTOM POI's along with the pre loaded POI's?? I'm using an Nuvi 660.

I was snooping around on another site and they were talking about bad basemaps.Especially ones from Costco, (Nuvi 360) which is were mine came from. I searched for cities... Queens, NY and Van Nuys, CA. They can't be found. Is anyone aware of this problem. Supposedly Garmin will send a file with the new Basemap which fixes the problem.

I travel on business every week. When I get in my rental car, it often takes a very long time to get the signal lock on my Garmin C580. This is likely because it "thinks" it's in the last place it was used... often across the country. It's not unusual for it to take so long that it starts asking me about the state and date.

I called Garmin to let them know that my battery in my 5 month old GPS was only lasting 20 minutes. They had e pack just the unit up and they would fix it. O.K. That is cool, so I sent it back. When I got it yesterday, everything I had in it was gone. Master reset I presumed.

My Garmin C330 came with the 2006 map. I found many routes where the directions wanted to divert me into a fence, wrong way on one way streets, into non-existant streets and other mis-directions. They also didn't have a road mapped that was three years old, and it ran past a hospital. I loaded the 2008 map version, and couldn't find any improvement. Just Monday of this week I put in an address to a home, and ended up deep into a state park staring at a locked gate.

If you like the simplicity of maintaining your POIs in CSV files, but wish you could easily specify proximity alerts on them, please read on.

How to pull a favorite off of nuvi to convert to poi? Once again and can pull the coordinates and name but not the address or phone info. Please help a newbie.

how to I convert a .kml file to .csv or .gpx file and keep the address or description data intact. I have tried to convert several using some online tools but come up short and it only converts the coordinates and name not the address or phone.

I just got the new maps, but I am having problems intalling it on my nuvi 250w. When I go to install it, it says there is not enough room. How do I delete the 2008 map off. I have deselected it on the unit but I am unsure of how to delete it using mapsource.

I know this has been discussed at length, but I don't remember anyone posting this solution.

When I connect my nüvi 2x0 to the computer it goes into mass storage mode.

a Garmin 650! Can I download waypoints into my 650? I do have a Garmin Legend but was just wondering about my 650.

I was out riding around yesterday and made a pit stop. Zumo failed to power up after the stop.
Had to remove and replace the battery to resurect the damn thing. With all the chatter on several forums about this problem, it sure seems like Garmin would realize they have a serious problem and do something to fix it.

I was wondering if there was a way to setup the Nuvi so that you can see "Exit POI's" like the Magellan units offer during navigation? I have noticed that the only POI that shows up when following a route is the Municipal Office in my area. It sure would be nice to see upcoming gas stations rather than leaving navigation to search for them.

Anyone know is it possible to set the time without doing a hard reset which I understand erases all my user entered data? If this is the only way to reset the time, can I backup my data and reset/reload it?

Is there a way to remove the standard nuvi startup screen that says warning about driving with gps.

Je me suis fais un fichier contenant plusieurs terrains de soccer au Québec et j'aimerais le classer dans une catégorie appelée Soccer.

Je pourrais l'ajouter sous Loisir aussi.
