Garmin talk

I have CN 7, CN 8 and City Navigator 2008 all on my Garmin StreetPilot 2730. Is there a way to permanently disable CN 7 and CN 8?

Right now when the 2730 is on I can disable those maps, but when I re-boot the maps are back. I only want to use City Navigator 2008

I was in New Orleans on Tuesday and rented a car from a different company than I normally do. Since I had a 6:30am flight the next day, I used my C340 and saved the rental company as a favorite. Then I headed off on my mini-trip.

Just downloaded and installed the 2.9 update, Didn't take long, after it downloads and installs power off and then power up the Nuvi and just wait for it to complete the new install and start back up. similar to windows update, needs a "reboot"

so far so good. Garmin site has the new features and/or fixes listed jusst prior to download

i put a igig sd card in my garmin 330 thinking i could then download more poi files but so far its not working. can this be done? thanks

Hi, this is my first post. I have a new nuvi 650, downloaded the 2009 map update, after running the rmu_cnnant2009.exe file, I get to the point of putting in the KEY, then it tells me the unit does not have enough memeory to load the 2009 map. What am I doing wrong?

has anyone loaded this , and how clean is it!

Garmin has released 4.40 for Nuvi 600 series ... something to do with map updates.

I had a POI for "My House" set for my driveway. Used it half a zillion times and it was always dead on. Did the 2009 update and my house (according to my GPS) moved around the corner onto another street. Also, had another POI "move" about 500 yards. Any one had this happen? Weird to say the least.

Only thing I can even guess is the BASE MAP has changed.

Garmin apparently has been busy. Upgrade from Version 3.6 to 4.1 is 5.68 MB to "correct issue with retail map update compatability." Whatever ... always worth upgrading firmware because often there are little tweaks in other code they don't mention.

Hey guys

When i transfer POI from mapsource to Nuvi 250, the icon for the waypoint does not get transfered with the POI. The POI is where it is suppose to be but the icon is just the grey dot. I've treid looking for the icon in the GPS somewhere but I just find the default icons.
Is this just not possible?

I see on Garmin's site that a ton of 6xx series NUVIs all have firmware updates as of May 5th with the exception of the 650 which isn't even listed.

Does anyone have any insight into this? I thought 650 and 660 were similar from a firmware perspective.

Just a quick note to at least the nuvi 750 folks that a new firmware update is available. I've done it and all seems well.

On my Nuvi 660, I successfully paired my Motorola Razr and made calls, both incoming and outgoing, even using voice dial. Then when I came back to the car the 3rd time, no phone. Had to re-pair the phone to the Nuvi. Is this normal? Anyway to avoid this problem?

I created a gpx file using easy gps and plugged in the coordiantes and transfered it to the unit with poi loader. However, something goes flakey once it is transfered. I pull the up the poi on the unit and all the poi's show 3.1m from my current location and same direction. Did I do something wrong here?

Here's my complex situtation. I have 3 seperate gpx files, Dallas, Houston and Austin. When I use POI loader, nuvi 350 displays those 3 files seperately under Custom POI. I would like to have one folder that says Texas under Custom POI; then when you click into that have subfolders that say the cities.

Garmin has a site, www.garmin.com/nuvifone. It shows an iphone like device that is a NUVI gps, cell phone, and pda. Anyone have a clue as to what operating system is on it? I wonder if it will support MS Active sync? I am also wondering if it will be a good replacement for a regular NUVI. So far, the Garmin Mobile XT is ok, but it is no NUVI., just not fast enough...
