nuvi 750 firmware update available to 2.90

Just a quick note to at least the nuvi 750 folks that a new firmware update is available. I've done it and all seems well.

Do you know if the nuvi 760

Do you know if the nuvi 760 uses the same firmware updates? Thanks! I'm a new nuvi.

Interesting

Looks like one of the fixes is for a problem I have been experiencing. Just happened again this morning in fact.

"Correct issue on trip computer that could cause invalid speed/distance to be displayed. Trip computer will be reset"

Is it just me or does this sound like all they are doing is resetting the trip data when it goes awry instead of actually keeping the data from going awry in the first place? Maybe I'm just too cynical. smile

I updated nonetheless, so hopefully this problem is indeed fixed and not just covered up.

Cool

Just got to use WebUpdater on the Mac for the first time...worked great.

The note "Trip computer will be reset" was a warning, not how they fixed the problem. When the update is installed, it resets the trip computer to zero in all of the fields. It then works as expected. Time will tell if the issue goes away, but I am fairly certain that it has.

Thanks

I'm sure you're right. The trip settings were reset after the update. It just seemed an odd way to word it.

I was actually surprised to see this as a fix. I posted about this problem a few times and I think only one person responded that they experienced the same issue. I guess it was more prevalent then I thought. Good to see Garmin is responsive to bugs in their software.

I did the download and

I did the download and installed to my nuvi 760 without any problems.
