Anyone with custom maps have any problems using the new firmware update?

I have a Nuvi660 and there's a new firmware available for it and it says it fixes a problem with retail maps. Does anyone have any further info into what exactly this fixes? I'm a little concerned that it might effect my custom topo maps that I am using.

It actually says it "Corrected issue with Retail Map Update compatibility".
My wild (and unsubstantiated!) guess, is that it makes the firmware o/p some data that the Update procedure checks for (and doesn't always find, at the moment). (A .SUM file, or an entry in GarminDevice.xml maybe?).
