Garmin talk

I have a new 750 and have found trying to use the FM transmitter to be very frustrating. Seems to me it is almost useless. I have a Subaru outback and the antenna is on the back window which may make it more difficult. Anyone else having the same problem or thinks it works wonderful?

A few things to mention:

The satellite reception is amazing. I get a lock very fast, indoors and in rooms not even close to a window. Amazing!

On several posts it has been stated that before you perform certain actions you should backup all files that are on your GPSr. I have a NUVI 350 loaded with CNNA NT 2009. I have the 2009 disc and MapSource is on my computer with both 2008 and 2009 maps. Would someone please explain why I should do a backup?

I recieved a new refurbished 760 from garmin, i noticed this screen does not look as good, or clear as my original, seems like the sharpness, and contrast is low. It looks a little blurry, fuzzy. I think you can change some settings from holding the screen, are any of these changes changeable? thank you.

I have been using my nüvi 670 for about a year and the weirdest thing started happing with my red light camera voice announcement. These are the file names loaded in:

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem - traveling thur Mempis this last weekend I was using my traffic reciever - everything showing fine (construcion, congestion etc) however as I approached the I-240/I-55 interchange there was an accident that apparently had just happened with EMS personnel on scene however my traffic reciever did not show this nor indicate such had occurred - tr

Does anyone know whether the routing algorithm for the Garmins' resides in the maps? I was comparing the routing offered by NT 2008 & NT 2009 and notice minor differences in the routing.

I recall reading somewhere that upgrades to 2009 maps has resulted in some changes to routing - not always better though.

I loaded the Sam's Club POI on my Garmin 260W. They seem to be on the maps but when I do a search for them under poi they don't show up. I'm lost on why this is happening.

I had a TomTom GO920 which allowed me to put the current speed (and other items) on the map page, which I really liked. I cannot figure out if this can be done on the nuvi 760. Can anyone help and let me know if the map page can be customized to include the current speed? I do not like having to go to another screen to see my speed. Thanks!

Why is it that when I use the send to GPS feature online the location is always displayed until I delete the point on my GPS?

I would like for some of my custom POI files to 'act' the same way. So that if I'm driving near a Starbucks it will be displayed (icon, sound, etc)

I have a nuvi 260 and recently updated the maps. I have also added Mandarin to my voices.

After getting the new maps, my recently found addresses came up very odd. They had partial names for some and many had what appeared to be Chinese characters after the name. Some did not appear to have addresses, yet when I pressed these names, they directed me to the correct places.

I want to load Canadian street files to the card on my Nuvi 200, then get directions from my location in Michigan, to a town in Canada. Is this possible if the US street file is in the internal memory, and the Canada street file is on the card? Can I get US to Canada directions, or only US to US, Canada to Canada?

does the red light camera on your gps alert you when you get how close to a red light camera intersection and does it audio beep or warn how far in advance?

how much are the new maps? where will be the best place to get them?

While using my Nuvi 350 on a trip through rural Illinois today, I noticed that the many of the highways I traveled had lost their street names. These were 2 and 4 lane highways that had their names on the 2008 maps. Now they are showing CR-13, CR-27, etc. instead. Also odd were the roads that were both a state route and a county route. Nuvi only showed the county route number.

Well, I tried rolling back my firmware to 4.60. Then after I finished updating, I let it do its thing. After it is done it is just a white screen. I can't press anything. If I connect to the computer my computer doesn't even recognize it. I purchased this 2 weeks ago and didn't even use it on a major trip yet.Any help?

i recently was maneuvering through the screens of my garmin 200w and it just froze, is there a reset button or easy method to remove battery?

power switch does not assist either, screen completely locked up

hello i am new and would like help getting icons onto my gps. i get the POI S but cannot get the icons to go along with it. am i doing something wrong? also i am putting the poi s onto a memory card and they are taking fine, thank you

I can load the POI's into my garmin 350 and when I go to the custom poi's I do not see all the catagories that I down loaded....ie: walmarts, gas stations etc. they are in the poi folder on my computer. but they just don't show up even the icons don't appear.....What did I do wrong??

I got a GTM-20 Traffic Receiver for Christmas for my Nuvi 650. It came with a 15 month subscription. When I connected it, everything worked perfectly with the subscription date shown as March 24, 2009 (15 months after it was first installed). But suddenly, after a few months of perfect operation, it stopped working.
