Simulated Routes (on nuvi 200W)

I have a Nuvi 200W.
Is there a way to simulate a route, without using your current location as the starting point?

Like, entering a starting and ending coordinates/ address, to simulate a route.

Yes

With the antenna off, tap the screen once to change modes. Now drag the screen to where you can see the starting point that you want. Touch the screen at the starting point and hit the button marked Set Location.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

how does that work (or does

how does that work (or does it?) with a 250?

Yes

It works with any of the Nuvi's as far as I know. You switch to simulation mode, then you can do Where to? - enter address or POI or favorite or how ever you get that desired starting point. Then you touch Show Map - then Set Loc. That puts your vehicle at that location. Now you can go back to the Where To? menu and plan a route from there, or simulate a route from there. When you switch simulation mode off, your vehicle will be back at your true location.

Pick the wrench (spanner) icon to get into setting. Pick Navigation. First selection should be GPS simulation which normally is off since it is trying to catch a signal from the satellites. Pick this and pick ON and you are now in simulation mode.

Garmin nüvi 200 (my first GPS), 780, & 3700 Series. And a Mac user.

on the 260

On the 260, GPS Simulator is under Wrench - Settings - System. It's not under navigation.
