Additional software question (entering a new state/province/territory)

I have a Garmin Street Pilot 7200. I was wondering if there is any way I can receive prompts from my GPS to tell me that I am entering a new state/province/territory. Would it be an option to activate in my GPS or would I need an external aid or product to do this?

I haven't heard of anything that will do what you want. At least hardware/firmware wise.
You could create custom poi's at the intersection of the road and state/province/territory line.
This wouldn't be very effective unless you traveled the same route/roads. Otherwise it would be extremely labor intensive if you included all of the roads crossing the state/province/territory lines.

The closest file on this website is "time zone changes". I agree with Ismonop. To develop the file that would give you the prompts that you want would be extremely labor intensive.
