Map Detail Settings on Nuvi

I have a Nuvi 780 and I noticed there is an option on under settings to change the Maps detail from Normal or More Detail. What is the big difference if I were to put it on Most, More, Normal, Less, or Least Map Detail. What do others use and what do you think is better?

It all depends on your preferences

I prefer to keep mine set at low or normal setting. If you set it to high there is to much clutter on the display for me. It's your world so set it to suit you... grin

I keep my Nuvi on the Normal

I keep my Nuvi on the Normal to less setting. I wish you could change detail level of various things. i.e., your own waypoints at higher zoom levels. Major streetnames at higher zoom levels. City names not displayed, etc. My older Garmin units could accept zoom levels for a number of different items, not just a general detail level.

Aside from the amount of detail shown, it also impacts on the speed of screen refreshes. This is most noticable, if you use the "Browse Map" function a lot.

Try having 1.2m zoom at Manhattan with Most, Normal, and Least.

I use normal since I never use the screen, I use the voice prompts.

Don't see the zoom in dimensions

Double Tap,
I don't think when I clicked the "+" symbol for the zoom that it tells me how much it is zooming in on my Nuvi 780.

I don't know about the 780 but

Are you looking at it in the 3d setting? On the C550 it doesn't show in 3D mode... You have to view it in 2D... Then it's above the speed window..

Most

I use Most. I want as much detail as possible.

Settings

I have my map on 3D view with the detail set to Most. If I lived in a big city it might be an issue but, where I live, there's no problem with clutter.

Detail

The trade seems to be the speed at which the map is re-drawn. I keep mine on "more".
