Nuvi 750 vs eMap (regards to POI's)

Just got my new (awsome) Nuvi 750...so far so good. I also have an older eMap that I used previously. The one thing that I don't see on the Nuvi in comparison to eMap...are POI's on the screen.

I run the Nuvi in 3d mode and I have it set for most detail...yet all I see are streets, roads, hwy. I dont see anything else. In comparison, on my eMap, zooming in or out, I would see icons for banks, food, airports, etc?

I have updated to the new 2009 software provided by Garmin. Am I just missing something? (New to the Nuvi world)

Zoom in

You need to be zoomed in fairly close to see the POIs (Points of Interest - banks, fast food, retail stores, etc.) Center the screen on an area where you know there are such places and use the + key to zoom in until you see the icons.

Limited detail in 3D view

The Nuvi's show minimal POI detail when in 3D view unless you are zoomed in to the 200ft level or less. This is usually the closest 1 or 2 zoom levels. Setting your display to 2D and zooming in will usually display more POI detail.

There are some differences from model to model in this behavior, so some experimentation in map orientation and zoom level will be necessary in order to find what you like best.

kinda bummmed out

i have the 750 also. i noticed that the Poi bmps dont show up unless its centered like a streeet cam at an intersection i saw the poi icon.. i was kinda bummmed that i wouldnt see a blockbuster video or a Costco icon as i drive past it.. lame that i have to zooom in so far to see the icon.

DriveSmart 50, DriveSmart 60, nuvi 2595, nuvi 3760,

You just need to have it

You just need to have it zoomed in very close, from what I understand. However, if all the POI's did show up, your screen would be very cluttered, I would think.

I have the 760. You will really like your 750. Congratulations
