I am using the Nuvi 760.

Is there a way to get the waypoint position information transferred from the device to be in decimal format and separate fields for longitude and latitude since that is the format we need for uploading our Custom POIs? I transfer hundreds of these from my Garmin after each trip, and then I move them into my Custom POI database for future use as needed.

I can't get POI loader to load files on my Garmin 660. I created a folder called Custom POI and have four different downloads in there. when I direct POI loader to that folder and try to get them loaded on my Garmin it says there are no data files in that directory. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Ok i downloaded and istalled POI Loader and all, and it successfully installed onto the Nuvi 660, now how can i look for them to see if they are in system?

I thought i would have a separate folder in Nuvi while being able to browse for the file of "Rest Rooms" i put there

I am attempting to make an initial upload of POIs to my Nuvi 650 - either to the base memory or to an SD card..

I have about 2 dozen POIs selected.

When I attempt an express upload I get an error message: "Unable to read from the device G:/Zio River Resort.jpg"

I just loaded some new POI's and would like to do a simulation. Can I do this on the gps or pc?
I want to find out if the wav files are working correctly.

I will be moving from the backwoods of Louisiana to the big city of Dallas in less than a month. I don't know my way around so I will be buying my first gps next week. I've done the research, checked the reviews and decided to get a Garmin with real-time traffic capability.

I've heard that Garmin Streetpilots have touchy batteries.

Is it bad to charge the Garmin c530 when its not actually dead?

Sometimes I plug it in the car when driving even though its not totally dead. Othertimes like today im working on POIs so ive left it connected to the computer (which charges it) all day long, and it was already at full battery power.

Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

my question is once you upload the pois into the garmin Do they automatically come up on the map when your near them or do i have to go into the extras option where i see they are located to use them?

I have a Garmin 780 which is suppose to locate my car after I have removed the GPS unit from its mount. How do I use this feature?

i dont quite remember if i have posted this.. but i remember looking for a certain place and my garmin 660 had two destinations for the same address.

is there an EASY way to see all the destinations and delete the outdated or duplicates???

I loaded several POI's from this website using POI Loader and I can see the files in my POI folder on the NUVI but when I go to EXTRAS to view the custom POI's nothing is listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated by this Newbie.

What is the quickest/easiest way to display a file of POI's on a map on a PC? For areas that I'm not familiar with I'd like to see a map of the POI's.

Some thing I did while updating my garmin streetpilot c580 removed all my maps. Everything works except it can not find any locations due to not having any maps. I have looked on garmin site on google, but have not been able to find out how to find and download the orginal map files. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can you Defragment your GPS? Would it hlp speed things up. I looked at mine and it stated that it need to be done.

anyone else have alot of trouble with the bluetooth firmware updater freezing on the screen rendering the unit useless. I am at the point of having to send it in but was hoping id check here first!!

Newelwy purchased Garmin GPS Devices With 2008 Maps are still eligible for 2009 Update. Fax your receipt to Garmin to get the update.
