I have a 265WT and use it quite a bit. I also use many of the POI's contained herein.

I'm going on another road trip in September (PHX to KY to CHI to BOS to NY to NC and then back to PHX).

Is there a way to update POI's while on the road? I have available PC's in some motels and I carry a BlackBerry (Bold) with me.

I would need to have POI Loader available somewhere.

What say?

We were on a trip last Sun. having spent a couple of nights ready to head home when my GPS wouldn't turn on when placed in the cradle. With out thinking much about it I reached up and slid the power switch and it came on. We had one more stop to make at another friends house so again without thinking much I just left the GPS on.

I recently purchased a refurbished 1490T and am happy with the large screen.

regarding the Garmin 855, I am having overheating problems and very slow start up and initializing particularly after mid morning.
Question: Should the unit be plugged into the charger all the time even when fully charger? Does this also mean uplug the charger from the car when not needed?

Need a little help understanding traffic reports on my Nuvi 755t. 3 or 4 days ago I did a traffic search in my local area. It showed an accident occurring at a major highway intersection. Today I ran another search and it showed the same accident. Seems to me that in 3 days they would have cleared up the accident? How long does traffic data stay in report? And is ther ant way I cab clear it/

I built some waypoints in BaseMap using Google for location and then copy and paste some details into the WP comment cell. Multiple Medal of Honor recipients in one cemetery where I want multiple grave sites in the comments.

I don't know how to respond to errors in POI files, and there should be some information about how to do it.

I am traveling in SD and looking for a WalMart. The POI Factory file does not contain a listing for Mitchell SD, but there is one there.

My dad just asked for my help regarding a problem he encountered with his Nuvi 760. He used it to find a restaurant. The unit worked fine getting him there. But after dinner, the unit refused to start for the return trip.

I have his Nuvi 760, and I can confirm that it will not turn on. There is no repsonse when I attempted to turn it on. Black screen, no sound.

Is there any poi that is similar to the AAA guide offered by Magellan. I am new to this love my Garmin 1490t but the guide could be help when traveling.

I just purchased a new 1490T. I knew it would only hold about 1000 custom POI. The POI file I use contain over 2000 POIs. So how can I utilize the microSD chip to hold this extra data and be accessible by the 1490 (or can it do that? The chip is 8 gig.

The day after I did the firmware update, my traffic indicator is either greyed out, or completely dissapears. Yesterday, in a short trip, it was green for about 5 minutes, went to grey, and then dissapeared completely! This is in areas where before 4.0 update, it had ALWAYS been green, yellow, or red, and indicated delay times. Has anyone else had this problem with the new 4.0 update??

I don't know how I did this but I am trying to delete a file called ETC I made for a POI.
I went into my Garmin folder in my doc and deleted the gpx file and csv file but when I unplug my gps it still is on my handheld.

I tried the POI loader but it says it will remove all my POI.

Does anyone have any advice?

So, I was in need of some driving time today to clear my head, and decided to go on a little 300 mile drive.

I'm happy to report the new FW update did not create any routing quirks at all. In the various cities I went through, I did make some stops to check out routing functions. Various stores and restaurants, and of course caffeine!

I want to send a point on E-470 in Denver to my 660 that is on the East ramp to I-76 at the north end of the road. I have tried three times to get the point sent and when I check back in the favorites it's always at the airport entrance at Pena Rd. I physically put the little guy in the right place and do the send but it sends the wrong location.
