Add to Garmin Nuvi Favorites

I have a friend who wants me to take his Quickbooks contacts and add them to his favorites on his GPS unit. What will it take for me to do this? Can I overwrite the existing current.gpx file with my own? Is there a better way of doing it?
I think he has a Garmin Nuvi 255.
I'm familiar with programming in VBScript and VBA and have experience with Quickbooks, Excel, Access, and CSV files. I also know how to get the GPS coordinates for a given address using the services of http://rpc.geocoder.us. I'm just not sure how to get these contacts converted to GPX and how to get them into his favorites.

Edit.If the file on your 265 is the same he wants on the 255.Copy it and rename to temp.gpx and paste in the gpx folder of the 255 next to current.gpx and re-boot.Extra Poi Editor also has feature to transfer favorites.Under file scroll open Garmin favorites while gps is connected to the computer.Add,modify etc and go back to file and click save to garmin favotites.
