Garmin talk

Hi everybody,

I have Mapsource and the maps are way out of date. Is there a way of updating them on the PC so the maps in the Mapsource database are the same as the lifetime maps on the GPS? My home address is not on the Mapsource maps but is on the GPS so that is creating some problems.

I have used my car navigator for many years but with the proliferation of speed and red light cameras I decided to purchase a Garmin 2460 LMT. I have had it for a total of two days, deciding to purchase the POI Factory red light and speed camera POI's.

So it seems the WebUpdater application and the Garmin WebSite "dashboard" don't agree on if my nuvi has the latest software or not.

If I connect with the web site, seems there's always a software update. and it appears to install it, complete with erratic progress bars as it happens. I restart and there's still updates needed.

If you look at the bottom where you can add to cart, it gives you 3 choices. The last one is 4 cents cheaper, not that that's a big deal but they also are giving you the 010-11380-00 Engine Diagnostic Sensor. About $100 dollar value. Not sure why they have done this, but i'm gonna buy it.

I need a CSV to GPX , or so it seems.

Is there a way to set the distance from an established route when searching for a poi such as Truck RV filling stations,restaurant, or other?

I received my 1490LMT and it came with a GTM26 traffic receiver. The Garmin site does not show the GTM26 as compatible with the Clear Channel traffic subscription. Anyone know if it is or not? They don't show a GTM26 in their database/search engine..

I'm planning to buy a new GPS to replace an older Garmin unit. I would like to get one that allows me to pick what roads I want.

I purchased my 3790LMT about a month ago and all was fine for the first couple of weeks... and then I plugged it into the mount one day, heard a slight (but constant) hum, and got garbled noise through the speaker (almost like the speaker had been under water). When I took it out of the mount, the humming noise stopped and the sound worked fine through the internal speaker.

This has driven me crazy ever since I can remember. On almost every traffic signal in DFW there is a street sign that faces UP. I know one thing about it, the color. Other than that, I don't have a clue what's on it or why it's there.

I've heard good guesses but I'm pretty sure they're wrong. Like:

I have been reading about GPS battery life and battery replacement here. I have seen the cautions about replacing your battery yourself and watched the videos on how to do so.

I am sorry if this is already posted. I have looked all morning and can't seem to resolve my problem.

I have followed the instruction to download sound files for my Garmin and they will not play.

I tried the AutoZone cvs and wav files and have them named exactly except for the file extension.

I found a note on a forum that states the following:

I just bought a Garmin 680 nuvi off of E-bay. The unit came with a 3rd party power charger that is not compatible with MSN direct services. The question is, does any one have an oem charger or be able to direct me where to get one hopefully cheap.

Hi all, I just installed software version 5.20 and removed all unusable voices (other than english speaking). I have also removed my trip log. I'm still having a map redraw problem. I'll be on the hwy and then it just shows my car (actually Fred Flinstones) driving on a roadless map (for a few seconds). What else can I do?

I sincerely hope this isn't a stupid question but if my understanding is correct, I'm supposed to be able to associate pictures with locations on on garmin 1490lmt. Does anyone know if this is correct and if so how I do it? Thanks for any help.
