4 mph Alerts

My Nuvi 1350 displays & makes a sound in areas which are designated at 4 mph (walking?) zones. This is in addition to the alerts for both redlight & speed cameras. I had this happen driving in downtown Washington, DC & it was enormously annoying.

Is there a way to turn off those walking zone alerts without affecting the redlight & speed camera alerts?

If so, how.
Thanks.
Fred

Same here!

Thanks for asking the question. I would like to know too!

Check the files

Often people in this situation have loaded POI files that have a number in the file name (think 7 11).

Numbers in file names are interpreted as a desire for alerts in POILoader

POI Loader determines speed information based on the following information, listed from highest to lowest priority:

1. Speed information included in the name of the individual Custom POI. For example, a POI named "SpeedZone@30" will have an alert
speed of 30 regardless of the speed information specified in Manual mode or in the file name.

2. Speed information entered in Manual mode.

3. Speed information included in the file name. POI Loader interprets any numbers in the file name as speed information.

Nice tidbit of info

Well, there's a useful tidbit of info I was not aware of, need to keep that in mind grin

Thanks jgermann for the info. I'll check over my .csv & .gpx files.

Just load you files using

Just load you files using poiloader and use the manual mode and go through each file. You should spot the one that you don't want the alert for.
