For several years, I have been running Android Auto on the smartphone connected to the car. For a Garmin-quality position, a Garmin Glo 2 GPS receiver is used. It works with both domestic and GLONASS satellites.

My Garmin BC40 backup camera worked well for few years. Now it stopped showing video. It gives error message something like " Camera could not connect, please check batteries or connection"..

I'm still using my old Nuvi 58, mostly on long trips. I've retrieved two csv files from the POI list, one is the rest areas combined for the USA and I saw that there was a similar one for Canadian rest areas. Can I load them both using POI loader? When I try the POI loader ask me if I want to replace the existing POI? Can that be done or am I doing something wrong?

For those who want or need the newest Garmin JCV files. Inside the JCV folder are two files, D3060380A.JCV (829.5 MB) and D1279460A.JCV (800.7 MB).

So did the 2023.10 update on 3x Garmins: old 660, and 2x 2689...
All 3 Garmins now put maps on SD Cards.....

Tested and one (Of course, Wife's 2689!) did not show local roads, only State & Interstate... ??
I then checked MyMaps, and see 2023.10 Foursquare but no 2023.1 NA Maps..

Decided to update my maps, opened GE, it updated my computer to latest version, then opened the screen showing my Nuvi (and Add a Device). A blue ball with the letter 3 was in the corner of the Nuvi icon (for 3 updates I assume) so I clicked it. The next screen says there are updates available with an estimated time of 25 minutes.

Map City Navigator North America 2023.10 is now available.

Like existing FM Radio received traffic alerts, that will prompt a delay to destination.... but modulated also by weather forecasts! Could new extra data piggy back on existing FM Traffic? Why Not?! infrastructure and software already in place!

OR... Garmin has a Bluetooth APP for phones!.. How about their APP linking to Weather Forecast, and Bluetooth that data to GPS???

I fear I made a bad choice. Long story short, my cell phone's GPS is having issues and I decided to get a GPS specifically for my car.

To save cash, I bought a used Garmin Nuvi 2360LM off of an Ebay seller. I know it is an older model but I was reassured that although it is discontinued, Garmin still offers Lifetime Maps for it.

The name “Australian Karen” is known and appreciated by most Garmin GPS owners. However, the name “Australian Karen” and "Karen" in general has been hijacked since the Covid pandemic and a Google search for "Australian Karen" turns up nearly everything but the Garmin voice of Karen Jacobsen that we know and love.

All my Garmins have a maximum memory card capacity of 32 GB. That said, at present, there is no shortage of 32 GB cards, but anything smaller is getting to be scarce. It seems as though the marketplace may be drive by the need for ever increasing capacity due to smartphones and dedicated cameras (Nikon, Canon, Sony, etc.). 1 TB microSD cards exist!

I have a Garmin 3590LMT that I have updated to 2022.25.

I don't actually use this device for navigating: I use it as a legitimate source for Garmin maps that I load into my 2012 Dodge Journey. The Journey's built-in navigation is provided by Garmin, and is very similar in capabilities to the 3590. It even supports Junction View, even though the car did not come with that included.

My old Nuvi allows me to pick from a variety of voices. Do any of the current Garmin models have this feature? With my hearing impairment I find I can understand the British female voice best, and I'd prefer the same, or a similar voice when I buy my next gps.

I have preferred routes, settings and custom POI in my nuvi 2689, I am wondering if I can copy the *.gpi file to to my nuvi 50, so I would have identical information on both units.

Using the format for creating custom poi on this site under the topic "Garmin CSV File Format" did not work for me. Those instructions showed the name info to be in quotes, but that resulted in garbage names on my Garmin Drive 52 when loaded.

Since I live on the South Carolina coast I have great interest in tracking hurricanes as they threaten my coast. For years I have uses Microsoft’s Streets and Trips for that purpose, but even though I still have a working copy, I know its days are numbered, and I have been looking for a replacement. I have been messing around with routes on the DS-86, and there it is.

This is my first post. Thinking of installing the POI-Factory Red Light Camera file on my new Garmin Drive 52 GPS device. This is my first Garmin GPS device and I am not sure if the Red Light file is worth installing. Will I get Red Light camera alerts using this POI file or do I have to pay Garmin to use their Red Light service?

I just discovered that the DS-86 does not have a “Shorter Distance” navigation option.

I discussed this with Garmin Support, and they said that it was an engineering decision, but others had complained, and a case had been opened. He said that if enough complaints are made, it will be added.
