3490LMT Battery Life

I'm about to pull my old 3490LMT off the shelf and use it on a new electric scooter. With that said, I will not be plugging into any cigarette lighter so was wondering what the usual battery life is supposed to be on this unit? It's the original battery (going on 10 years) so maybe I should replace it for good measure.

Ok thanks.

Since that isn't a "walk about" unit, battery life is not going to be good. Anywhere from an hour to about 10 minutes is as about as much as you may get.

Electric scooter.

If the control unit of your electric scooter has a USB port, you may be able to power the nuvi 3490 from that with a USB cable. I have seen some folks do this with certain electric bikes. I tried it on my ebike using a micro to mini USB OTG cable, but never got it to work. I know some of the Garmin devices in that generation can be picky about how they are powered.

Ped Mode

I think the unit had a pedestrian mode if I recall which is why I thought I could get some battery life out of it. The scooter doesn't have any external USB power so I have to rely on the internal battery. OK, time will tell I guess.

Thanks.
