Garmin talk

I have my DS65 permanently connected to the ACC power source (cigarette lighter). A connection that has served me well for several generations of Garmins. Unit starts up when I start the vehicle and (with a countdown) turns off with the vehicle.

I installed Custom POI with corresponding Map Icons using POI Loader.
These icons do not show up on the map.
Does this unit have the ability to show the icons on the map?

I bought a new GPS and need to sell my Garmin DriveSmart 65. Let me know if you are interested. $150

I updated my POI’s today and deciddd to see if anything is afoot with updates.

I’m downloading a new map! I just did it a month or so ago!

Been searching all over the internet for this and couldn't find it, so I'm hoping somebody here can provide a screenshot (or photo, either is fine.)

Given Garmin’s convention of naming updates one year ahead, the time is drawing near for the final map update of the year, 2022.30. Time is drawing short for Garmin to either “perform” or get off the pot with “perform” being used in a metaphorical sense in order to maintain forum civility.

I haven't used my NUVI2555LMT for a long time, until recently.

I noticed that the Traffic Icon was Gray and when I tapped it, it said "The Traffic Receiver Power Cable is Disconnected"

When I looked at the Traffic Info on the GPS, it read "No Traffic Providers". I'm confident that my cable is OK, since it worked the last time, that I used the GPS.

I recently purchased a used 2597 because my 57LM quit working and is not repairable. I updated everything on the 2597 and it works well except that the speed limit is missing. I have tried reinstalling the maps, hard resets and anything else I could think of, but the speed limit is still missing. The memory is nearly, but not completely full. I did not get a memory error when updating.

How do I do this on the NUVI265W

I do not like mounting my GPS to the windshield, and I don’t like leaving the GPS and/or any of its accessories in sight when the vehicle isn’t occupied. For me, that means some sort of dash mount to hold the GPS suction cup mount. I have had success with that method with several different dash mounts and GPS units.

In attempting to update my nuvi 765T to 2022.25, I got an error message from Garmin Express about the new maps having too much information to be installed on the 765T. I've been using an 8 GB card for map updates for some time, that card is just a hair over half-full, and the update to 2022.20 had gone flawlessly.

Does anyone here have, or have experience with, Garmin's Inreach Satellite Communication service?

It's compatible with several Garmin handheld GPSr's. It requires a monthly subscription plan with varying costs depending on the level of service.

When you know enough to be dangerous, but not enough to recover....

My Garmin (2460LMT) now boots to an empty map. The screen shows my car, blue line traces for my recent travel, and POI icons (like Home), but no street map.

I just had a chat with Garmin Support and they said that if there is a problem running Garmin Empress or POI Loader on Windows 11, they will fi it.

Is there a way hide the name of a waypoint and just show the icons? I’ve created a bunch of POIs and want to take some screenshots that just show the icons. If I zoom out it works but I’m looking for a way to change it in the settings. Thanks!

RESOLVED: BAD (NEW) SD CARD!

I updated my maps a few months back and Voice Command > Find Address stopped working.
Error says "This feature is not available for American English"

Since then, I can't get any maps to load except for CN North American NT 2022.20 Foursquare, which doesn't do me any good.
I have tried Change Map, Reinstall Map, changing cables, installing an SD card.

Garmin recently released V6.60 for the Garmin GPSMAP 64s. It's been a very long time since the firmware has been updated.

After updating Garmin Express to V 7.10.0.0, I am getting a strange software update notice on just one of my two nuvi 3597's. When I click the "View Details" button, the software is identified as Navigon Version 2.10, Initial Release, File size 1.27 MB, Install time 1 min.

Anyone know what this software update is? Or why it is offered on one of my 3597's but not the other one?

Since Microsoft have updated my version of windows to 11 Extra POI EDitor doesn't show the diacritics anymore. Am I the only one having that issue?

I downloaded Arches NP POIs from:

Here's a couple of entries in the file:
-109.53465,38.6824,"TURRET ARCH","5214"
-109.54275,38.69318,"COVE ARCH","5174"

I understand the first 2 fields (lat/lon or the other way around). The third field contains POI names.
