New version of Express available, V7.10.0.0

My BC-30 doesn't display any more. Anyone else have this problem?

Another problem I have with my DS66. After installing the Garmin Drive app, the navigation volume drops to less than half than without the app with no apparent way to control it. Anyone else bumped into this? Thank you.

For those with EU maps latest update just released.

Although Garmin discontinued support for Mapsource years ago, many here continue to use the program.

I still use Mapsource for quick file edits or simple viewing. I also prefer the track editing features over those in Basecamp.

I thought we had written all there was about the DriveSmart 86 but then Up Jumped the Devil.

Has anyone had success connecting a ds66, ds76, or ds86 with a bc30 backup cam? Garmin documentation and tech support say the two are compatible but I've had no luck. It appears during setup that the DriveSmart only wants to connect with the bc40. Garmin support was no help.

FYI – Had a problem with NA2022.25. I have the RV760LMT with a 32GB micro-SD card and tried the update. Got an error half way through the update. Updated again and completed without an error. Turned on the GPS and everything came up except that the GPS did not see NA2022.25 yet it loaded correctly into the GPS and onto my desktop w/Windows 10.

Since the mount for DS 86 is new to Garmin GPS units, I thought a few words about it may be helpful.

The name for this new mount from Garmin is “Large Suction Mount”, and it is large, sturdy, and secure. No other current mount can be directly connected to the DS 86.

So, yesterday I needed to come up with an efficient route to find 14 addresses in Edmonton. In a moment of pure inspiration I figured Base Camp would be perfect.. Wrong.. (so far).

A learning curve obviously but I figured there must be a way to just add 14 addresses and the program would lay out the best route.

The feature set of the DS86 is so large that a document larger than the Garmin Owner’s manual would be required to cover all of it. This report will cover some of the unique things I have discovered as well as the few “Downers” that have found.

My comparison will be between my DS 65 and my new DS 86.

Is it me/operator error, or something else? My 3597 seems to just stall and shows 30 or so hours to install using GE. This is my third time installing. First time I had to leave it to install overnite. The map is already installed to the computer, so download went pretty quick. When the stall happens is when install starts.

Again, Garmin has supplied two files, D1279450A.jcv (820,976 KB) and D3060370A.jcv (850,465 KB), with both files inside a folder named "JCV". This changes everything. I have been using Garmin GPS unites since the Street Pilot, and this one is a game changer. Here is my first take.

1. Read every word in the Owner’s Manual. It is not included in printed form but is complete on the 86 itself. It is even better if you download the PDF from the Garmin website and print it or just read it from the 86.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF GARMIN WOULD COME OUT WITH A SIMPLE WAY TO HAVE VOICE ANNOUNCEMENTS WITH NAMES AT SPEED AND CAMERA LOCATIONS INSTEAD OF JUST A BEEP,MOST OF US HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO PROGRAM OUR COMPUTERS AND GARMIN DEVICES TO ENABLE THIS FEATURE (IF THERE IS ONE)IT SHOULD BE AN OPTION IN THE SETTINGS ON THE GARMIN IF IT CAN BE DONE.

I finally (after how many years?) found a use for it.

My old Nuvi 855 has almost given up the ghost. I do not like to give up on something until I have tried everything possible.
Booting it up it gets stuck at "Loading maps" and sometime goes beyond that to a completely light grey screen. That's it at best.
Tried the hard reset and when I get the option of "NO" or "Yes" to reset it just freezes at that point.

I've got a 2689 that I've had for about 6 years, and in the beginning it served me pretty well. But lately it's sending me on wild goose chases. It's happened the last 3 or 4 times that I've used it, but this last trip a few days ago took the cake.
