My 2699 was updated to the latest N America 2023.20 on the SD 32GB card and has 2.35GB free out of 7GB internally.
Can I delete GarminJVC files in the nuvi 2699 folder, there is a JVC folder on the SD card? Are there any other files to delete?
Deleting files.
It is possible you have some orphaned JCV files from previous map versions that GE didn't delete properly. But carefully check the names and dates of the JCV files you want to delete and make sure they are not part of the current map version. It is possible that Garmin Express put the current JCV file and some other feature files in internal memory even though it installed the map files on SD card.
It is always a good idea to make a backup of anything you delete. Then if anything goes wrong you can copy the deleted files back to their original location.
Another technique I sometimes use as a test before deleting a suspect file is to rename it. For example, if your JCV file is named D1234567.jcv, rename it to something like D1234567.jcv.old. Then use your device and verify that everything is working properly. If you are convinced it is OK, then go ahead and delete the renamed file. If something is awry, rename the file back to its original name and you will be back in business.

Welcome to POI factory, Patrick0525!
2.5 GB is a huge chunk of memory. POI files are text files and don't take much room. Tens of thousands of POI locations can easily fit in that space.
The 32 GB SD card was a good choice for size.
Garmin Express doesn't put all files onto the SD Card unless the internal memory is near completely full.
In my opinion the 2699 is in good shape and no files should be deleted.
