Nuvi 310 Splash Screen customisation

or just go to Settings/Display/Splash Screen.

From the manual, it appears that you need to create a jpg image with the text, then copy the file from your computer to the nuvi. Hmmm, you could include a recent selfie in the image. The jpg file can go to the nuvi itself or an SD card if one is installed.

I went to the Splash Screen settings page first, but it's just a screen with 9 empty boxes.

I then looked at the manual (thanks for the link), but it doesn't seem to tell me where to put the .jpg or any clues as to possible size restrictions.

There is a directory on the Nuvi called JPEG but that just has a database file in it (which I can't open).

I'm going to copy a few jpgs into that directory and see what happens.

I popped a few jpgs (which I reduced in size to 3" x 3" in Paint Shop Pro) into the JPEG folder and they magically appeared in the Splash Screen setting page on the Nuvi

So all good now, many thanks for your help.

Why would you want your name and address on the splash-screen when many users, including myself, don't even set the "Home" waypoint at their actual location.
In your case it just begs for a home invasion or break-in!

I'm glad you got it to work. From what I read in the manual, it wasn't clear where the file should go.
