I dont see new POI icons on nuvi 780

Hi all- I just added custom POI's to my 780. I used the Garmin loader and it added them but I am not seeing the accompanying logos I downloaded with the POI's when viewing the map. Any help appreciated.

If you scan the recent posts you will find that yours is the third new thread asking the same thing. Depending on the model, you need to zoom in all the way, tap the screen to put it in browse mode and zoom in, or switch to 2D mode and then try zooming in.

Good Suggestion

Zoom in and you’ll see them. Or, if they’re on a route you’re traveling, they may show up. Check to make sure that all the file names are identical. Took me awhile after reading many of the threads here to finally get mine all together and running properly. Check in your Where To? Section and then under Extras and they should be there. If not, again, make sure all your file names are exactly the same, for the file, the BMP and sound if you’ve got sound. Also, make sure you’ve activated them by manually putting them in with POI Loader.

Logos

I had problems with the logos, too... till I read that the logo files have to be 256 bit BMP files. Once I saved them in that format, all was well. Windows Draw has the capability of saving in that format.

I have also opened some of the POI files in Excel and did a "remove and replace" on a couple of them to eliminate annoying quotation marks. I've also done some file name changes to clean up the way they show on my Nuvi. If you do that, don't forget to change the name(s) of the logo file as well.
