Favorites from Google Map

Over the past two years I have downloaded favorites to my Nuvi 750 from Google Maps. These go directly to my favorites and I use them for where they take me then I delete them when not needed anymore.

I looked at my files on my Nuvi and all the favorites I downloaded and deleted are still in my files.

I know I can go in and delete them, but why did they not delete when I deleted them from favorites? Is there a way to get any of these back in my favorites?

Anyone

Does anyone know the answer to this, or why it is happening?

Just delete them

I have seen the same thing with my 760. Nuvi imports them when it boots up and sees a new file in there and it ignores them after that. If you really don't want them any more, delete them. If you want to add them back as Favorites again, try changing the file names or opening them in an editor and resaving them. I don't know how the Nuvi remembers that it has already imported them, but it has to be either by filename or file date, I would think.

Changing the name

I changed the name of a couple but nothing happened. Will try the editor, or I guess it would be easier to just go back to Google Maps.

It looks like they wouldn't be saved it there wasn't a way to get them back to favorites.

On my 265 I have to go back

On my 265 I have to go back and clean up files I send to unit from Google.Once you re-boot they are saved in Current.gpx and no longer needed.I just tried a little test and sent a McDonald's location to my favorite.Deleted it from gps.Hooked gps back to computer and went back and found the file.Renamed to temp.gpx.Re-booted and it put it back in favorites.

Edit.

If you have lots of them to look at I would download Extra Poi Loader http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor .Connect gps to computer.Go to file on top of the screen and open the first one from your gps.Click on file again but this time select merge open and this will add to the one already on screen.Keep using merge open until you have all of them on the screen. Now just go down the list picking the ones you want to save.If you want to delete one double click on it and it will take you to the delete screen.Save a gpx and name temp.gpx and put back in Gpx folder.

I changed name to temp and it worked beautifully!
Thank you very much.

Will use Extra_POI Editor to check the rest before I change their name.

Thanks again.
