What Kind of Accuracy........ (GPS/Address)

should I expect from my Garmin 755t??

When I am at home....it shows that I am at an address that is about a 1/4 mile away.

I also noticed last night....that while sitting at an intersection where I was supposed to make a turn...the GPS showed me to still be 500 ft away.

What is going on??? Is my unit bad??

My previous Garmin was always within 50 ft of accuracy!!

Wow

Wow, that's worse than I'd accept if it's always that far off.

50 ft is even maybe a bit far (but not by much) if you have multiple satellites with strong signals. You can see how many it's locked on to and how strong by pressing and holding the signal strength bars at the top left until the sat screen pops up. At least that's how my 765T is and I think all Garmin nuvi's.

Of course, any indicated position in relation to the map will also depend on the map set accuracy. Meaning do they have the address for your house & streets positioned correctly on the map.

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.

When I am at home....it shows that I am at an address that is ab

Mine new Gramin 255W does the same thing, but I think it's because when I turn it on inside the house it has trouble obtaining a good satellite reception and can't get as accurate a location. Outside and in the car it seems to do just fine.

Cooridinates vs Address

Coordinate wise it is probably about as accurate as it can get. The address to coordinate is not always correct. This is why a custom POI that has been verified is usually more accurate than the ones built into the GPS. Best possible fix is of course firmware and map update.
