Garmin talk

Can anyone help me on how I can load rivers and lake names on my Garmin 2555LMT? I live in NC and frequently travel back and forth to Florida. I would like the 2555 to display the names of the bodies of water I am crossing.

A friend needs to install Map Source and I am not sure if it is still available from Garmin. All links that I have seen point to a Garmin site that is for updating a previous version and not a new install. My friend already has Base Camp but wants Map Source.

Anybody have a source for Map Source?

I would have posted this a week earlier but came home to a family emergency. In any event, I went to CES last week and I took my 3490LMT with me and put it along side of the new 3597LMTHD to do a few comparisons. I was not overly impressed with the new unit but it did have some features that were overhauled that I think are worth mentioning.

First I wanted to format my garmin nuvi 465t but I saved all files to my computer, I wanted a full clean new updated system...
well here is what I did:

I formatted with gparted to Fat32 everything when OK
I turn off my device abd turn it back up and it display garmin logo then reboot and it goes on a loop and wont connect to my computer...

I've loaded 2 POI files and I can set the new POI's as a destination. However, when I following the Tools->Settings directions there is no Proximity Points item to choose. I scroll to the bottom of Settings and the last one is Bluetooth with a blank spot to its right.

Sure would appreicate it if someone could tell me how to fix this.

Hi there - I've got an older Garmin GPS... a 760. I originally joined this site back when I got it a number of years ago, downloaded a ton of POI's, loved 'em, used em, and hadn't been back to the site since..

Just this weekend I brought my GPS inside, first time since I uploaded the poi's years ago! And updated the firmware and loaded some new/updated POI's.

How do I download a red light camera file to my garmin nuvi 2595LMT?

Changes made from version 7.60 to 7.70:

Improved compliance with California Energy Commission power requirements.

Anybody updated to this version? Doesn't seem worth applying.

I'm shopping around for a new GPS to replace my 7-8 year old 255w. Right now I'm between the 3970 and 3490. Does anyone have any experience between the devices or if you own one of these? Anyone recommend another model over these?

I saw that the 3970 is supported by garmin's red light and speed cameras which led me here, so do all of the POIs work on any model garmin?

Could someone tell me what software I need from garmin to install Traffic Cam updates?

I am trying to delete some of my Favorite and Saved address. They will not delete. They always come back. How do I permently delete them where they will not show again.

i'm a newby to this and have searched for an hour and finally decided to ask .when i go to custom poi's on my 2455 lmt i see a list of all the hd dealers in alphabetical order not in a folder.i now want to add a rustic roads folder for wisconsin and maybe other folders in the future as well. in windows 7 how do i put the hd dealer list in it's own folder and add a new folder for the rustic roads?

will an older version of english american jill work correctly if my nuvi has been recently updated with new software and maps?if so what's the easiest way?

I'm trying to find or make a better looking semi truck driving on my screen. I found a ton of different cars but no trucks. Anyone have any ideas?

I am somewhat confused regarding Extras and Favorites. When you download a gpx file the device how do you determine if it will appear as a favorite or as a custom poi?

Just did a map download with express with 2460 and 3590.
Flawless with both units except map will not authenticate
at start up screen with 3590.
Went to my garmin site but their down for maintenance.

Hi there! I just used the Garmin POI Loader to install some custom POIs [several .csv files and their respective .bmp icons] to my Garmin 2555LMT. Some of the icons display as expected, but some of them are faint, ghostly looking.

It's a legit website, I've ordered a few times from them. They seem a little slow to ship but my orders have always shown up.

The screen on my 780 broke. When the unit comes up it boots up and says loading maps then it goes to the "map update screen" I can't get past the map update screen because I when I press the 'OK" button on the screen it doesn't work because the screen is broke. Does anyone know of a way to get past this so I can get to the unit connected to the PC to pull off the favorites.
