I'm having some problems getting a custom alert to work with a custom POI file. It has worked for me in the past but now won't work (on my new NUVI 3597 as well as my NUVI 1450).

The latest new annoying enforcement effort is starting here in Arizona: Safety Corridors. These are sections of freeways where everything becomes zero tolerance. That includes speed of course so now if you're going 70 in a 65 mph zone, normally not even worth stopping a driver, you're likely to get a ticket.

Recently we had a question about a CVS location. One of our members took a look at the file and saw that it needs to be updated, but when looking at the web, it seems a fair number of CVS locations seem to be located in Target stores.
Which got us to wondering about if or how this file should be updated.
How many members use this file?
Do you prefer Walgreens or Rite Aid over CVS?

This happened yesterday... I'm attempting to find the line in current .csv file...
Picked one from POI list, and it took us to a residential area--No CVS...
Selected another 2.3 miles away, and it was good...

We were in a time crunch, so didn't write it down.... Will try to find it....

Has there been any discussion about converting POI .csv files to online map (e.g.: google.com/maps) HTML bookmarks?

I realize they are not "directly" convertible, but I'm wondering two things:

Help please. I am using a Nuvi 3580 to navigate in the North Cumberland WMA on an ATV. This is a mountainous area in East Tennessee with numerous ATV trails. I've downloaded and installed img files with fairly complete maps of that area. They show up just fine on my unit, track just fine, no problem there.

The Food Standards Agency (UK) releases its rating data for open re-use.

This means I can create PoI files for pretty much any food-related subject. For example:

• all food retailers (some 450,000!)
• all food retailers with the highest hygiene rating
• all (X brand) supermarkets
• all pubs/bars/nightclubs

I wonder if anyone is working on developing a POI list for the location of pumps dispensing Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). There's a good website available for this purpose (Discover DEF -- http://www.discoverdef.com) but it's not as convenient as having a POI list of DEF pump locations right on my GPSr.

Does anybody have the POI file for all USA YMCA locations? Thanks!

Where do i put mp3 or .wav into my Nivi 2598 to get "shell station nearby" to be voiced when approaching?

I am maintaining the Braum's Ice Cream & Burger Restaurant stores. charlesd45 contributed the .bmp and .wav files

this is a nice file when traveling with the rv to get overnight parking

Does anyone know why the nav unit does not recognize a SD card? In Setup-Media everything but MDI is greyed out. I can stick a SD card into the slot to try and add some waypoints of my own in *.db3 format and it says loading the file. But it really does not. The unit will play CD/DVD's but that is also greyed out in the actual Setup-Media settings.

POI Factory member Gastx is needing to step away from file maintaining due to significant medical issues in his family. We appreciate the time and work he's put into file maintenance and wish him and his family the best.

If anyone is interested in taking over as maintainer for any of these files please let me know.

I loaded a custom POI through my Macbook to my Nuvi but the "Go" box was not usable. I normally use Safari as my browser. I found that downloading from the POI Factory works best using my Firefox browser. Not sure why, but loading in this way allows the green "Go" button to work properly.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Tried to delete custom POI's from my Nuvi 2559. Found the files from the unit on my Macbook using Finder. Sent them to the trash but they remained on the 2559. Tried POI loader to delete them but to no avail. Eventually called Garmin. The rep said that moving them to the trash is only the first step. You actually have to empty the trash before they will be removed from the Nuvi.
