I believe that these 2 comments are missing the point. I am the member that looked at the CSV file as a result of a question regarding a location in Ashville,NC. This particular file had not been updated recently, so I decided to see how the file locations agreed with the website locator. I found numerous errors in the file , missing states,missing locations, etc and I asked GlobeTurtle to see if this file has been used in the past and hopefully determine if the time to update the file is worth the time to do so. In order to update this file, the website locatior does in fact list the locations by state and city. However, EACH city must be selected individually in order to obtain the address/phone number, etc. Extremely time consuming. If enough interest was shown, I would attempt to update this file. The same question arose on the other files, Walgreens and RiteAide. No mention of combining the files.

@Mahoney. Brueggers Bagels is like that. You click on state, city, and then find the location. You have to back all the way out and come back in to get the next location. That's why I haven't updated that file. And no help from their Corporate either.

Ok everyone. Is it worth the time consuming effort to update Walgreens, CVS, and RiteAid?

...it appears that CVS bought Target's pharmacy business late last year and they are now operating pharmacies in Target stores. Not surprising for me since I don't patronize Target stores. (I live within 1 mile of a Target store and I will pass it to go to another store of a like business model. I just don't agree with some of Target's policies.) With that being said, it would be beneficial to have a POI of CVS pharmacies, especially when traveling in unknown territory. I do shop CVS (free-standing stores) and Walgreen's interchangeably, with Rite Aid thrown in on a very infrequent basis due to the lack of availability of Rite Aid's where I live.

Whenever I go on vacation or on a trip out of town, I like to have the file of Walgreens in case someone in the family needs to fill a prescription.

But CVS is the one I usually pick first. Here in northeast PA, CVS has upgraded most of their stores to the new larger format. Some locations have changed and are not correctly positioned in the existing file.

IMO, keeping the files separate is the best approach. Updating these files separately is a big enough task. Updating a combined file would be a monumental one.

Mahoney has volunteered to work on getting these files up-to-date.

He would greatly appreciate any help and additional input from other members. Perhaps if you have the locations for your area you could send those to him.

Member "plunder" has volunteered to update OH,PA,WV,KY,IN and MI in the CVS file.I am presently up to Florida in my update. Maybe there will be other members to come forward. Once we complete the CVS file, I plan to update the Walgreen and Rite Aid files.

just read Walgreen is buying out rite aid, some rite aid stores could become Fred's pharmacy

i guess that I will be holding off udating the Rite Aid until this settles out. However, since I also have the Fred's file, I will have a major update to do on this file.

I posted this request back on 12/20/16 and so far have not received any additional volunteers. I can understand with the holidays and all, the lack of any voulunteers. As you can see on the CVS download page, I have continued to plod onward with the update, meanwhile continuing to keep my other files updated.I still would like to see some maintainers step forward and volunteer to update at least a state. States beginning with South Carolina need to be updated.

The last number in each line is the store number. It was included in the original file, so as I copied and pasted, that was included.

Here is the latest status on this update. The CVS file that was uploaded on 1/15/17 is an update of all states with the exception of In, Ky, Mi, Oh, Pa, Tn and Wv. These states are being updated by volunteer members.
For the Wahgreens file, I have completed the update of this file and I will be uploading this file later this evening.
For the RiteAid file, as stated previously in this thread, the update will wait until the decision is made by Walgreens for some of the RiteAid locations to become Fred's Pharmacy.

Update-6/19/2019

I updated the Rite Aid file last Oct with a decrease of 641 locations. I have just updated this file and an additional 592 locations were removed. Of these 592 locations, 345 became Walgreens. The remaining ones were apparently just closed.
In regards to the CVS file, I plan on updating this file. If the maintainers that Helped with this previous update, I would appreciate it if you could update your portions.

CVS-changes
My last update in April and previous updates did not inlude phone number of most of the locations that are found in Targets. These phone numbers were not included in previous updates, because of the fact that each location (approx 1700 locations in Targets)had to be separately selected in order to obtain the phone numbers. I finally decided to take the time and include them.
All the locations in Hawaii are provided by Long Drugs. The nomenclature I used in column C is "CVS{LONGS]-City and State".
I combined the separate listings for CVS and NAVARRO. The
nomenclature I used in column C is "CVS[NAVARRO]-City and State".
These NAVARRO locations are all in SE florida.

RITE AID-changes
Net decrease of 815 locations. 743 were changed to Walgreens and 72 other locations were deleted.

Walgreens-changes
Added the 743 previous Rite Aid locations to the Walgreens file and deleted a few other locations in the file.
