POI projects

Just was looking for "Pick your own" fruit/veg (Strawberry, Oranges, ....) POIs, but couln't find any. May be an idea to start one.

I was driving on the loneliest road in the US (US 50) this past weekend and I had never traveled the road before. I took my garmin nuvi with me and it put me at ease. One thing that I was lacking was a poi file with all fuel stops on it.

Although it is a little bit late for this year since it has already begun, I was thinking that having a POI file for the Minnesota State Fair might be handy. My wife, two sons, and I are planning on attending the fair tomorrow, but I was thinking that for some people it might be very handy to have some custom POIs for the fair.

Please use this forum to suggest additional WiFi hot spots in New York State. Additionally, please post any errors found in the POI file so that they can be corrected.

Thought I'd take a shot at doing a POI of Michigan 18 hole golf courses.. Got the Extra poi editor running, and loading courses. Everything seemed to be going fine.

Started a POI file for Railroad Themed Restaurants.

It includes restaurants in former depots, former railroad cars or memorabilia.
I also included those more geared to the kids, where your food is delivered by a model train.

I am a total music geek. I thought it would be fun to start a POI with historic music sites across the contry.

Rock N' Roll, Country, Blues, anything music.

Just to give you some ideas:
Graceland, Motown, Chess Records Studio...

Locations were famous, or infamous, events occured:
Riot House, Haight Ashbury, Fillmore, Death Locations...

I just drove a heavy trailer across the county and would have loved to know ahead of time when some harder pulls were coming
anyone seen a file like this or interested in creating one?

Hi,

I went across the Border last week and discovered the Friendly's restaurants. Perfect if you have kids.

Today, I d/l the Friendly's POI from POI Factory and found out that the ones I went to were missing. I decided to update the file using all informations from Friendly's web site. Hey! Hey!

I started a POI file that is linked below of some uniquely fun restaurants that have more than just fun decor. This is a list of restaurants that are fun, interactive, and sometimes on the bizarre side. I want to avoid the restaurant chains, however, I did include Dixie Stampede and Medieval Times only because these do offer interaction and fun.

I don't know what happen to the recent Dunkins file but there are a lot of missing locations. Many where there before but are now gone. Did someone edit the file?

Don't know if this has been posted already, but on a trip this weekend through Virginia's I-95 and I-85, I saw that all the rest areas along these interstates, except the Welcome Stations, were closed. Probably result of budget cuts. It resulted in at least one stretched bladder... Anyway, a word to the wise: don't pass up the welcome stations!

msgreenf has given me the go ahead to take over the Qdoba project and update the 2 year old file. This is a fast expanding chain, and far too many locations are missing, and its too much work to do by myself. I need your help!

In this file,( http://www.poi-factory.com/node/2941 ) there is no listing for Nelsons Speedshop in Greenville, MI ( http://www.nelsonsspeedshop.com/ ) This is where I bought my Yamaha Grizzly 2 years ago. They are still in business today.

I've got a couple of TourGuide Custom POI files in development, RT-66 and the Pony Express Ride.

I've gathered photos for 80% of the Pony Express TourGuide and the generated gpi file is about 6MB. It includes one 320x280 image and a description of each of the 93 locations of Pony Express markers, plaques and museums.

Anyone knows if exist a poi file that include toll highways.
My interesting zone is New England.
