I saved the restarea POI into a temp folder, but can't find it on my laptop. I checked every file I could think of but can't find it. Help. I'm running VISTA.

retrace your steps....
click on another file (like another poi) and click save as - it will, by default, direct you to the same place the last file was saved

If he didn't do "save as" the first time, it probably did put it in a temp folder, like /windows/temp which is probably hidden.....so that "most" users won't be able to find it. And if there has been a reboot, it's likely gone.
Just download again and do "save as".

Save files
As a suggestion go to your documents and make a folder and called it My Pois.Then when you download from the site put the csv or gpx files in that folder(My Pois).When you run poiloader direct it to the folder My Pois not the files.
