Ran across this today: http://tiny.cc/d4BEj Buy it now: $149.99. Does nothing else as far as I can tell.

I was reading an interesting article at http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/25/2582.asp saying Redflex that runs the AZ State cams is an Australian company.

Seems like the employees are able to exempt themselves from their own tickets too. What a scam!

Found this article interesting and thought I'd share it. It's about the number of cameras in Arizona, and some differences between City and State run ones, and associated fines.

Michigan is not included. Is it safe to assume that there are no cams in Michigan, or that cams are not allowed here?

Even though the topic says "Red Light Cameras", does this include communities with speed cams?

If you receive a RLT does it effect your auto insurance premiums as a moving violation? How can they prove it was YOU driving the vehicle? Doesn't seem right if it goes on your driving record if it wasn't you driving. How can they prove it?

The Iowa state Senate adopted a measure that would ban the use of red light cameras in the state.

AMARILLO TX-- A lawyer in Dallas says red light cameras are unconstitutional and a district judge agrees, but that doesn't mean Amarillo cameras are coming down yet.

Kind of in line with all of the other AZ speed, license plate, etc discussions going on. I received this email:

I d/l State parks and restarea. I had no interes in speed cameras because there do not seem to be any/many in New England area.

I am now getting speed camera alerts with multiple alert sounds.

Anyone how to get rid of the warnings and sounds.

Has anyone just used one of those photo blocker sprays on their plates so the plate is just overexposed on the picture?

If so what are your thoughts/comments on those products?

I got a "Notice of Violation" in the mail today from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Though I am the registered owner of the vehicle I am not the person in the picture.

Is it possible to have Speed-Cameras.csv separated into 2 files, one for surface streets and one for freeways? There are a few red-light/speed camera combos that are within 1/4 of the freeway and it always alerts me to them when I am driving down the freeway. Magellan does not do "on route" alerts. If it is within the distance in any direction it alerts.

I'm not sure if this has been covered, but often when you look at a traffic signal (especially overhead), you can see one or more tube-type cameras mounted somewhere around the signal. These are not red light cameras but merely cameras set up to monitor traffic conditions. Many times they are not viewed on a regular basis and never for violations, etc.
