VRR update for PS5 combined with uncapped frame rate is amazing

If anyone has PS5, a VRR display that does 120 hz, and an Insomniac game, like Spiderman, the gameplay is now super smooth. Frame rate goes to about 100 FPS in certain scenarios, with dips to 70.

I'm almost tempted to get rid of my PC now if more PS5 games moving forward have uncapped FPS.

Massive sunspots could disrupt GPS signals

Reported today that massive sunspots have appeared could interfere with or disrupt satellite GPS signals. Lots of gloom and doom in the second article.

Happy Easter

May you be blessed and thankful for what you have. May this Easter Sunday inspire you to new hope, happiness, prosperity, and abundance, all received through God’s divine grace. We are joining you in gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice and the joyful renewal it brings to all of God’s children this Easter season.

have to keep replacing shower's cartridge yearly

Nothing is more annoying than when the bathroom is quiet early in the AM, and I hear a drip.

then, come to see the shower tub is wet.

There is tons of residual water from when a shower ends, but it doesn't drip to the next morning.

Finally put 1 and 1 together. I've been replacing the Moen 1225 cartridge almost every year since 2016!!

DIY oil changers thought I'd share

I did rebates every year until the pandemic where since we weren't driving, why buy any more oil. Usually I have about 4 5 qt jugs in the garage ready to go.

In 2022, I did my first rebate again since 2019.

net net? A 5 qt jug of Pennzoil Platinum synthetic is $9.11 incl. tax.

For each qty 2 five quart jugs you buy, you get a $25 gift card.

In California, an army of genetically engineered mosquitoes awaits release. Will it backfire?

Oh, now here's a truly scary idea!

Don't get me wrong, I understand the idea and why / how someone could come up with potential ways to address the problem(s). I've not made up my mind as of yet.

GPS Failure leads to death

https://wgntv.com/news/missing-couple-survived-in-car-for-7-...

tl;dr gps guided couple to desert because highway mode not enabled. Their rv became stuck in sand/gravel.

I suppose it's worth looking at an entire route overview when navigating in unfamiliar areas. Or better yet, plan your own route ahead of time using mapsource/bc.

successfully got concert tix 3 venues

I was into shows 1990, and that was the start of where it was all but impossible to get tickets without camping out (nary did I envision people would one day camp out worldwide for a $260 watch).

I went through this "verified" process (quite a few steps it would seem but legit/Ticketmaster) where I guess the idea is to keep the tickets away from bots.
