This week we're recognizing bwarden.

Since 2007, he's maintained a collection of POI files for TriMet and other transit systems, mostly around the Portland Oregon area.

This past month, in addition to updating several existing files, he added a new file for the Tualatin Shuttle service.

Thank you bwarden for sharing and keeping these files up-to-date over all these years.

Memorial Day

It has been said that a person who has died is never forgotten as long as their names are pronounced. I want to remember two friends that died in Vietnam. PFC Jerry Day Leak, US Army and LCpl Ronald P. Coates, US Marine Corps . Both died a few months after arriving in Vietnam.

Wow, Waze asked to stop using “shortcuts” for routing

Interesting concept, a North Caroline town has asked Waze to stop routing traffic in some areas of the town.

This week we're recognizing johnnatash4.

John often adds a little variety to the forums with "slice of life" topics such as: rusted bolts on a license plate, skinning a knee, or teaching guitar to a 9 year old.

Between and among the regular GPS topics, it's nice to have a few general topics that offer more opportunities for people to share and connect.

skinned a knee

and an elbow today. I was weeding the garden and got my foot caught in the chicken wire that's supposed to keep the squirrels out, and planted myself on the walkway (bricks).

IOS / IPadOS 16.5 now available

Probably something as well for phones.

Took about 20 minutes on my iPad.

Sometimes the easiest jobs

go awry.

I applied for a vanity license plate, it came in 5 1/2 weeks.

We're supposed to install immediately (how this works, not sure, that would mean while in-transit, our displayed plate is revoked and no good).

This week we're recognizing bobkz.

Bob announced "Offbeat Tourist Attractions" as his first POI listing back in April of 2007, and he's been taking care of it ever since.

This past week, another user asked for help using it with a motorcycle...

This week we're recognizing garmin-nuvi-user.

A long time in the making...

In August of last year, garmin-nuvi-user posted about a DriveSmart 5 that had become very sluggish. After trying several troubleshooting suggestions (and each time reporting back with results), things left off with "I will see if things get better with the maps on the next update."

Gotta love those battery tenders

Between my knees being messed up for a few years and now having cancer I haven't ridden my bike in a while. I don't trust being able to hold the heavy bastard up at a stop sign or red light. I still keep it up to date with inspections and run it in the driveway for awhile, etc.

update map (Jeep Patriot 2011)

I have a Jeep Patriot 2011 and I can't find an updated map(not available for 2011 Jeep) for my onboard GPS. Do anyone know how to update the onboard GPS or where I can get the update?

Also my poi's are not updating too.

Luggage tracking tags

Having read about those luggage tracking tags I am curious how other people are satisfied with them.

I was not going to pay big bucks for the "Apple" tags and by doing a bit of research found the Eufry Smarttrack Link tags were getting pretty good reviews and the cost is way less than the Apple type. They use the Apple FIND MY app.

This week we're recognizing dobs108.

Over the last couple of weeks, his post on "New Work Zone Speed Cameras In New York" prompted quite a few others to share their thoughts related to the topic . . . Who knew bike racks had become so popular?
