finally got new tires
I bought a used car in 2016.
A trick I never would have thought of!
For the internet ads, the new car dealer took the brand new spare tire out of the trunk with brand new alloy rim (at the time, 10 years old), armor all'd it, and mounted in the rear left. Then they took close up pics for the web ads.
This implied new OE tires.

Pre satellite "GPS"
I debated between posting in the joke thread, Other GPS brands, or Welcome/OpenTalk. Here it is:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qqnHtH1RAs
Two questions:
-Did you catch the mention of the vehicle's "mileometer," pronounced mile-omm-etter?
-Sussamb, is mileometer still used in the UK?

Electric power in Texas
Texas residents are being asked to conserve power after six power plants tripped off line resulting in the loss of 2900 megawatts of electricity. Makes one wonder how all of those electric vehicles could be charged if the Green folks get their way. I could see thousands of cars stranded because there was no way to charge them. Seems like they are putting the cart before the horse on this issue.

tried my hand at auto painting
A couple weeks ago I noticed a plastic piece gone from my garage queen.
It covers where the tow eye would screw into the bumper, a plastic piece.
It only comes primed, so I had to pay $24 for the piece and $54 for paint on eBay, base and clear.
What I suspected is the case.

Odd questions
Thought I'd ask one odd question and see if anyone else has things they are curious about but didn't want to ask.
I'm simply curious. When you are done preparing your bagel do you eat the top or bottom first?

appliances
Sunday night, my wife said she heard a pop and the gas dryer stopped working.
Since electrical was fine, I assumed it would be the belt, which I've never actually seen.
A quick YouTube showed what it was, and off to Lowe's we went at 19:43 EDT when they close at 20:00.

keeping up with the jones
My wife said, didn't we get 6 mos free Disney+?
Everyone at school (elementary) is talking about Encanto. Can you set it up?
Come to find, none of our TV related devices can stream Disney+ and connect to the 2009 HDTV (I did still redeem the free offer even though it was mid December 2021 that I got it), except the 2020 laptop. Via a HDMI cable.

POI Entries
Many years ago, I started a Railroad Crossing POI submission....then decided it was too Tedious to search a map, locate railroad crossings, determine the LAT/LONG for each item and enter them into a spreadsheet.
I know, I’m lazy.

Just received an M1 macbook pro
Received as a gift. I've always had windows laptops. And recently I've been using chromebooks. They're perfect because I really just use a web browser.
But the battery of these M1 laptops are astounding. I really wish I could buy a chromebook with battery life as good as this.
